Seongnam auto shop oil change and tire nail repair: Able Motorworks

One of those things you have to take care of regularly when you own a car is the engine oil change! This time I visited Able Motorworks in Seongnam to get mine changed, and here's my review 🤍

As soon as I walked in, the work space and all the equipment looked clean and well set up!

Choosing an engine oil for highway driving: what did Able Motorworks recommend, and at what price?

Before changing the engine oil, Able Motorworks gave me a thorough consultation about which oil to use! Instead of simply pushing the most expensive product, they first checked my usual mileage and driving habits. I mentioned that I do a lot of highway driving, so they recommended an oil suited to that kind of driving environment.

💡 What I liked most was the price. They said the oil was actually cheaper than buying it online myself, and even told me to feel free to search around and compare — so I could get it changed without any financial burden 🤍

Once the oil was decided, they got started with the actual oil change and vehicle inspection.

Oh, and also! I got the oil filter and air filter replaced too, which they usually recommend swapping out along with the engine oil. The owner even carefully showed me the genuine authentication marks 👍🏻

While waiting for the residual oil to drain, the owner also checked the undercarriage, tire pressure, and carefully inspected all the fluids including coolant and brake oil! I'd never been to a place that checked all this while just coming in for an oil change — isn't that amazing!?

A nail found in the rear tire — and the tire repair that followed

In the middle of the inspection, he suddenly looked at the rear tire and asked if that side's tire pressure tended to drop often?! I told him that yes, one of our rear tires did keep losing pressure, and he found a thin nail lodged right there…! He spotted the exact problem ㅠㅠ

I'd always just assumed it was a pressure issue and let it slide, so I was so relieved the mechanic caught it himself ㅠㅠ He removed the nail right away and even repaired the tire neatly, which I hadn't expected at all — having that sorted out too gave me real peace of mind. Amazing work!!

And after a thorough tire pressure check too!

This machine was used to remove every last drop of residual oil even more cleanly!

After finishing the residual oil removal completely, he didn't stop there — he shone a light and checked the undercarriage even more carefully ㅠㅠ I was so relieved to hear there were no major issues.

Seeing the old filter next to the new one made the difference so obvious — I really felt like replacing it was the right call :3

The new engine oil: a highway-rated Japanese oil good for 15,000km

Now for the switch to the clean engine oil I chose! The oil I decided on is a Japanese product, rated for up to 15,000km for highway driving! It's exactly right for us.

They carefully checked the amount of oil added too

and even topped up the washer fluid as a free service!!

They even used a cleaner around the engine bay so there wasn't a speck of dust left. Seriously, there's no other place like this ㅠㅠ 😭

And truly last, they connected a scanner to the car to check the electronic systems too, wrapping everything up!
