Yeoksam Station Korean BBQ at 8pm with pork intestine stew: Giun
In short
Giun Gangnam Station Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Yeoksam Station and Gangnam Station in Seoul that grills galbi samgyeopsal (bone-in pork belly) over charcoal. Arriving at 8pm and taking the last open table, the writer ordered two servings of galbi samgyeopsal, pork intestine doenjang stew for 7,000 won and Giun fried rice for 9,000 won, and the staff grilled the meat, scallions and white kimchi from start to finish. With free corkage and a calm room, Giun works well for wedding invitation gatherings.

Near Yeoksam and Gangnam Station, this is the restaurant I actively recommend for wedding invitation get-togethers and meetups — Giun Gangnam Station Main Branch, a Nonhyeon neighborhood favorite famous for its galbi samgyeopsal (bone-in pork belly).

- Parking: No parking support, but the Yeoksam 1 Culture Center public parking lot is about a 5-minute walk away!
- If you book through Naver, there's an invitation-gathering coupon and a drink coupon — keep that in mind!
What Giun Gangnam Station Main Branch looks like inside and out
I loved that Giun Gangnam Station Main Branch has an overall slightly dim, calm atmosphere! Rather than a loud, bustling BBQ joint, it felt like a place where you could eat more comfortably and with some ambience — great for chatting with a friend over the meal, or for a quiet drink and conversation.
Even though we arrived around 8pm, so many Nonhyeon-dong locals were there that we ended up with the last table lol.
Giun's menu, free corkage and what the writer ordered

Their set menu that comes with an assorted vegetable platter is famous, but it seemed like a lot of food, so we ordered galbi samgyeopsal instead! And true to a restaurant with great ambience, the drink list was fantastic too!! Oh, and it's corkage-free! (Which makes it even better for invitation gatherings haha.)

What side dishes come with the meal at Giun?

Having been to quite a few pork BBQ places, I've learned that a good spread of side dishes usually means the meal will be above average~~ There were lots of banchan (side dishes) that pair well with pork, like gungchae namul (aster greens), chives, pa kimchi (scallion kimchi), and myeong-i namul (wild garlic leaves), plus white kimchi, green onion, and a mystery sauce I'll get to later haha.
Oh, and when you order a drink, they thoughtfully give you a fully frosted ice glass too haha (nice touch 👍🏻)
Two servings of galbi samgyeopsal, grilled entirely by Giun's staff

Ta-da, this is pork belly, but why does it look as glossy as beef..!! True to its name, galbi samgyeopsal comes with the rib bone still attached 🫶🏻

The white kimchi and green onion that came as side dishes were meant to be grilled right there haha. At Giun Gangnam Station branch, the staff grill everything from start to finish, so you can just relax and eat, hehe. It's a real go-to spot for grilled white kimchi and green onion, right?

The staff grilled it so carefully without burning anything, and even grilled the rib bone so it was easy to pick up and eat haha.

They grilled the green onion so it turned wonderfully sweet without burning, and once it was done, they dipped it into that sauce for us — and honestly, well-grilled green onion + that sauce = 😭🩵🩵 I genuinely wanted to order extra green onion just to eat on its own ㅠㅠ

The meat was grilled amazingly too, never burnt but with just a slight char on the outside, and my husband — who's a bit of a foodie — said:
This place is good.
From my husband, that's genuinely high praise — high praise = he wants to bookmark this place and come back again and again. It tasted less like samgyeopsal and more like actual galbisal (rib meat), and the meat was so sweet with a crispy-outside, juicy-inside texture that was insane 😭

Finishing the meal with pork intestine doenjang stew and Giun fried rice
Pork intestine doenjang stew, 7,000 won

I ordered the doenjang stew without thinking much of it, but it was actually packed with pork! So I looked at the name again — it's "don" (pork) jang stew, lol lol lol lol lol lol, our tastes matched up perfectly haha. There's genuinely so much pork in it. It also had a slight cheonggukjang (fermented soybean) flavor, so it was really delicious!!
Giun fried rice with cheese, 9,000 won

Haha, we ordered the Giun fried rice along with the doenjang stew! We didn't add extra cheese, but it came piled with cheese already, and the taste was oh~~👀 wait what, why does the fried rice taste like pizza?!?! It was completely different from a typical BBQ restaurant's fried rice — it had a bit of a pizza flavor, unique and delicious, so we scraped the bowl clean lol.

Finished off with the delicious rib bone haha. You've got to save the best for last!!🫶🏻🤎
