Sharing two dishes at a Yeouinaru lunch restaurant: Jeongyun Kitchen
In short
Jeongyun Kitchen is a Singapore-style rice and noodle lunch restaurant on the 2nd floor of Gongjak Sangga, a 4-minute walk from Yeouinaru Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, near The Hyundai. Ordered to share, the Singapore chicken rice came with plenty of tender chicken over rice cooked in chicken broth, while the sesame chicken noodles were a cold, bibim-style noodle dish in a rich sesame and peanut sauce. Jeongyun Kitchen is a good pick when you want a different kind of lunch in Yeouido and two people can split both dishes.

Trying to figure out what to eat for lunch in Yeouido, I ended up at Jeongyun Kitchen!
I was looking for a decent office-worker lunch spot near Yeouinaru Station, and instead of the usual Korean food or gukbap (soup with rice) places, the big draw here was being able to get Singapore-style rice and noodle dishes — that's what got me in the door.

Inside Jeongyun Kitchen and how table ordering works
The inside of Jeongyun Kitchen is really cute and clean-looking! There were more tables than I expected. Ordering was quick and easy through the table kiosk.

The menu is as pictured above. The signature dishes are Singapore chicken rice, char siu chicken rice, red curry chicken rice, and sesame chicken noodles. What I ordered was Singapore chicken rice + sesame chicken noodles!
Both dishes are chicken-based so they might look similar at a glance, but once I actually tried them, the flavor directions were pretty different, and I liked that each menu item had its own character.
How was the Singapore chicken rice?
The first to arrive was the Singapore chicken rice.

When you think of Singapore chicken rice, you usually picture softly cooked chicken eaten together with rice infused with chicken flavor, and Jeongyun Kitchen's version was served in a way that let you enjoy chicken and rice cleanly as the centerpiece.

A detail shot... the chicken was really tender, and the portion was really generous. You can ask for extra rice when ordering — worth noting! The rice itself was subtly infused with chicken broth and was so delicious.

Just piling the bok choy that came alongside on top of the rice with the chicken made it even better... the chicken tasted like it had a soy-based seasoning but also a bit of a barbecue flavor... anyway, proving once again that Koreans really do run on rice power, it was a hearty meal in that chi-bap (chicken and rice) kind of way.
What do the sesame chicken noodles taste like?
Next up was the sesame chicken noodles.

Was it going to be like a perilla seed noodle dish? Honestly, from the name alone I couldn't quite picture it... but this dish was a total kicker too. Sesame flavor is the star, and at the same time there's a rich broth with peanut sauce mixed in, with bibim-style (mixed, not soup) noodles. It's eaten cold, and it honestly reminded me of Paldo Bibim Noodles... so good.
A detail shot...? The distinct sesame and peanut aromas hit you right away — anyone who likes peanuts will have zero complaints about this. Just an unconditional yes yes yes.
The noodles are thin and chewy, bibim-noodle style, as pictured. Eating it cold made it even better, and the broth was a bit thick so it clung to the noodles nicely — so good just slurping the noodles alone. Loaded with chicken too!

Is Jeongyun Kitchen worth it for lunch in Yeouido?
Totally clear recommendation... when you're always eating lunch around Yeouido, you end up cycling through the same old menus, so it's really nice to have a spot like this for days when you're craving something a bit different. Both dishes are light enough for a lunch, don't have a strong lingering smell, and are packed with chicken for a solid protein boost — a real must-try.
- Super accessible lunch spot near Yeouinaru Station and The Hyundai
- Unique concept, but in the end the chicken rice and noodles taste like familiar, delicious comfort food
- Great for ordering different-style dishes together to share
Personally, the sesame chicken noodles were really the star for me that day. It felt like something you wouldn't easily find anywhere else. Highly recommend if you're visiting Yeouido Hangang Park — make sure to stop by and try it.
