Busan pub with fondue chicken feet and outdoor seats: Mokhwa Silbi
In short
Mokhwa Silbi is a Korean pub (yojujeom) in Seomyeon, Busan, that has kept its half-outdoor, half-indoor setup for 10 years. The writer ordered the cream cheese shrimp fondue alongside the new fondue chicken feet, dipping shrimp and tulip-cut chicken feet into the melted cheese, and received two free highballs for arriving before 6pm. Ordering the two cheese dishes together was the most satisfying combination at Mokhwa Silbi.

Mokhwa Silbi, the number one true-local hotspot that's held its ground in Seomyeon for 10 years. This nostalgic bar has been popular since I was in my early twenties, and it's the original creator of the cream fondue shrimp dish!!

What Mokhwa Silbi looks like: half-outdoor, half-indoor seating in Seomyeon
The undisputed 10-year veteran of Seomyeon. Everyone recognizes it as one of the top date-spot bars in Seomyeon!! With outdoor and indoor seating split apart, it has that half-outdoor pub feel that makes it a hot spot popular with all ages here.
Mokhwa Silbi menu and prices

Mokhwa Silbi is the original bar in Seomyeon that started the cream fondue shrimp trend. Their signature dish, the cream fondue shrimp with mille-feuille nabe, is the kind of thing girls especially go crazy for — visuals and taste both on point. And apparently they recently released another new menu item that's stealing hearts. It's chicken feet 🔥 Cream shrimp and chicken feet together? Total shock~~

First, the side dishes come out — mukguksu (acorn jelly noodles) and the nostalgic pink sausage~~

Two free highballs when you arrive before 6pm
Apparently customers who visit before 6pm get two free highballs!!!😖😖 Highball / Earl Grey highball / lemon highball — the Earl Grey and lemon ones only cost an extra ₩1,000!!! This is happiness for a thousand won 🩷 Great atmosphere plus free highballs — absolutely amazing. The sweet highball was also fantastic!
Cream cheese shrimp fondue at Mokhwa Silbi

Why are shrimp always so good. Here comes the signature cream cheese shrimp fondue!! Cream cheese shrimp + tortilla pizza + dinner rolls, all in one set~~

I've had this dish at other bars too, but piling this much cheese on top of the shrimp fondue — Mokhwa Silbi is still the best..🫢

The tortilla pizza and dinner rolls that come with the same set are also a proper full spread

Once it starts bubbling a bit, they torch it, and the cheese just overflows~~~~! Just thinking about scooping up all that cheese already has me excited..

This dripping, overflowing, savory and soft cheese was a total feast for the eyes too 👍🏻👍🏻

Very hot, be careful 🔥 Dip the shrimp straight into the cheese and you get savory, salty, and soft all at once!! The shrimp are plump too, and go perfectly with the rich cream cheese — the plump bite of the shrimp is so appealing!

Dip the leftover cheese with the dinner rolls, dip it with the tortilla, or wrap shrimp in the tortilla — all delicious >.<
Fondue chicken feet: the new dish at Mokhwa Silbi

And now the currently hottest recommended side dish, fondue chicken feet 🔥🔥 I actually meant to order the crispy cartilage, but it was sold out — a sign to order the chicken feet instead. I completely fell for these chicken feet.....

Fondue chicken feet come as a set with cheddar cheese, nachos, and stir-fried noodles! For people who can't handle spicy food, the chicken feet spice level can be adjusted. I got it at the mild level and it was just the perfect amount of spicy, so even people who can't do spicy food can totally handle it
The chicken feet are tulip-cut, so there's no need to debone them~~~ Dip them straight into the cheddar cheese and the spicy-sweet-salty combo is insane~! Eating them together with the chicken feet meant even a huge amount of cheese never felt heavy, so I kept reaching for more!

The chicken feet sauce was insanely delicious. I thought the stir-fried noodles would be fire-noodle level, but they weren't spicy at all, which I loved. If you like spicy food, you have to specifically ask for it spicy!!

The best way to order at Mokhwa Silbi: both cheese dishes together
Cream cheese shrimp fondue + fondue chicken feet — this combo is insane, so definitely order it this way.... I recommend pairing the cream shrimp with the chicken feet, and the tortilla with the stir-fried noodles 👏🏻 A total cheese frenzy, end of story. I got a bit greedy with both the shrimp and the chicken feet and ended up stuffed. The reason it's held its spot in Seomyeon for 10 years — the kindness, the taste, and the atmosphere are really the best 😖
