Seomyeon bar with 2nd-floor window views over Manchwi-gil: Yuumangju
In short
Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is a Korean dish-and-drinks bar on the 2nd floor of the Sseolpa building on Manchwi-gil in Seomyeon, Busanjin, Busan. Floor-to-ceiling windows at the side seats and bar seats look down over Manchwi-gil, and an order of yukhoe & shrimp jang kal-bibim (raw beef and soy-marinated shrimp over knife-cut noodles) at 32,900 won came with beer and a free garlic baguette. If you want Seomyeon's loud, buzzing night out just as it is, Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch fits.

Yukhoe & shrimp jang kal-bibim, 32,900 won, with beer

The baguette is served as the basic side dish, and I ordered the yukhoe & shrimp jang kal-bibim (32,900) plus one bottle of beer (6,000).

All three dishes came generously portioned. The yukhoe (raw beef tartare) was sliced into even pieces, topped with a rich, thick egg yolk.

The plump shrimp jang (marinated raw shrimp), piled with sauce, was topped with a generous heap of flying fish roe.

The kal-bibim (mixed noodles) came piled high with shredded egg garnish.
Cheers 🍻 Being a 2nd-floor bar in Seomyeon, the drinking atmosphere itself is overwhelming — in the best way.
Yukhoe mixed with egg yolk, piled on the garlic baguette
I popped the egg yolk and mixed it into the glossy red yukhoe.

It looked even chewier and juicier now. A cold, chewy, refreshing burst of meat juice filled my mouth — the taste was really clean.

Then a bite with the kal-bibim. The chewy, spicy kick adds another layer, making the yukhoe taste even more tender and springy(?)
Piled onto the garlic baguette for a bite, and an extra sweetness fills it out — a delicious combination of the crisp, plain baguette and the savory, melting yukhoe.
Shrimp jang, flying fish roe and the chew of the kal-bibim noodles
The plump raw shrimp, lifted by the tail, had an amazing glossy, viscous surface. The moment I bit in, the sticky, chewy texture was so good >_< The springy yet clingy texture filled my mouth with sweet flavor while a savory ocean sweetness rose up like umami.

Then the flying fish roe bursts plump on top, hitting the peak of flavor.

Paired with the kal-bibim, a subtly tangy, sweet reddish flavor flows smoothly through the mouth.
Slurping up the thick noodles, the chewy texture of the kal-bibim comes alive twofold.

With the bomb-sized shredded egg, the spiciness mellows out and the drinks just keep flowing.
