Hanam Misa comic café, 3-hour pass in a private room: Real Toon

A few days ago, after grabbing lunch nearby with a friend, we wanted coffee and a chance to catch up on comics I'd been meaning to read, so we headed to Real Toon, a comic café in Misa, Hanam.

Bottom line up front: this place feels like a black-and-white cartoon world, fully stocked with comics, Nintendo, streaming, and board games — honestly a solid indoor date spot.

Why visit Real Toon Comic Café in Hanam?

After finishing lunch with my friend, we wanted coffee and to catch up on comics. Since we came by car, I searched for a comic café with parking and Real Toon seemed like a good pick, so I parked straight in the underground lot. You just take the elevator up to the 9th floor.

Where is Real Toon Comic Café, and is there parking?

Real Toon Comic Café is at Unit 905, 9th floor, Seongsan Tower, 45 Misagangbyeon-jungang-ro204beon-gil, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do. Parking is available in the underground lot of the building, for up to 5 hours 30 minutes.

Before visiting, I'd recommend checking Naver Place for any temporary changes to business hours.

Real Toon pass prices and what else is on the menu

We visited around 1pm on a weekday and got in right away with no wait. Rates are split by time — 1 hour ₩4,900, 3 hours ₩9,900, weekday 5 hours ₩14,900, weekday all-day pass ₩16,900 — so it's easy to pick whether you're dropping by briefly or settling in for a while.

There's also a range of snacks and ice cream — check the photos! We didn't have much time so we went with the 3-hour pass this time.

Walking in, you see the shoe locker on the right first. Each numbered cubby holds two pairs of indoor slippers, so my friend and I could change into them together easily.

After leaving the locker key at the counter, we picked our order and got a buzzer. For any additional orders after that, you scan the QR code on the receipt.

What facilities does Real Toon Comic Café have?

The restrooms at Real Toon Comic Café are gender-separated and located outside the café itself. You change into the restroom slippers provided inside before heading out.

There was also a free printing notice, plus blankets, fans, wet wipes, and heat packs for the stomach and back. Obviously, there was a note asking guests to return items after use. And interestingly, there was a sign-up sheet where you could request books you wanted to see stocked. ^^

Inside the WHITE VILLAGE room at Real Toon

The rooms are divided into HOUSE, WHITE VILLAGE, and CASTLE, each decorated with a different illustrated theme.

The drinks we got at the counter came in a purple carrier stamped with the Real Toon logo, making them easy to carry to the room.

We used the WHITE VILLAGE No.7 room, which had a mat, cushions, a small table, a TV, and a remote. House rules were posted inside the room too — take only as many books as you'll read and return finished ones to the shelf, and order food via QR code.

The hallway toward the Castle rooms had a black carpet with a continuous castle wall mural, making it feel like a completely different zone.

How do you pick comics and board games at Real Toon?

Real Toon's bookshelves are organized by section, so you can find what you want quickly. There's also a book-search PC to look up exactly where a title is shelved. Next to the shelves is a rack packed with board games — we didn't get to try any this time since we were short on time, but I'm planning to next time with an all-day pass.

From a glance, it looked like rooms marked with a Nintendo icon next to the room name are set up for gaming. I spent my 3 hours reading comics I'd been putting off, but I was disappointed I still had books left unfinished.

What are the atmosphere and service like at Real Toon?

White tile floors, cartoon tables and chairs, and a Paris-window mural all came together nicely. From the tables to the chairs, the black-and-white interior felt like a real labor of love, which was kind of amazing to see. Soft yellow lighting here and there seemed to mellow out the mood.

Air purifiers and potted plants were placed throughout, and the careful air-quality management meant I could focus on reading for 3 hours without ever feeling stuffy.

• Beyond comics, board games, printing, blankets, and heat packs all showed real thought for guests.
• Every room has a TV and mat, so you can fully relax and unwind.
• Air purifiers and plants throughout made it comfortable to stay for hours without feeling stuffy.

What fell short

• We'd already eaten before visiting, so I really missed getting to try comic-café snacks like ramen or fries.
• The restroom is outside the store, so changing into slippers to get there was a bit of a hassle.
