I was looking for somewhere light to grab dessert after a meal in Misa, and ended up at Damgeum Gelato.

The exterior is cute and tidy, so it caught my eye from a distance — easy to spot as a gelato shop even while just passing by.

It's in an area with restaurants and cafés nearby, so it's a good spot to stop by for dessert after a meal.

The space isn't cluttered, so as soon as you walk in your eyes naturally go to the gelato menu.

Tasting the four flavors: milk, makgeolli, Korean melon and lemon

I ordered two two-flavor cups that day, so I got to taste four flavors in total.

The first combination I picked was milk and makgeolli (Korean rice wine). The milk had a soft, nutty basic flavor that paired well with gelato's characteristic chewy texture.

The makgeolli had that subtle characteristic aroma and taste, so alternating between it and the milk brought out each one's own charm. Eaten together, the two blended smoothly without either one overpowering the other.

The second cup I chose was melon and lemon. The melon had a sweet, mild fruity flavor, while the lemon was distinctly tangy — a completely different mood from the milk and makgeolli combo.

The lemon especially left my mouth feeling clean, which paired well with the sweet melon. Personally, being able to taste four flavors at once made for a fun comparison across different menus.
