Yeonnam-dong pizza restaurant for day drinking: Sunny's Pizza Market

I found this place while soaking up a gorgeous, sunny fall day walking around Yeonnam-dong. The whole vibe just screamed Yeonnam-dong, and it turned out to be a great spot for a casual bite.

Where is Sunny's Pizza Market and what are its hours?

I stopped by Sunny's Pizza Market (써니스피자마켓). It's about a 10-minute walk from Exit 3 of Hongik University Station, and you'll spot it easily if you walk along the Gyeongui Line Forest Trail. It's earned both a Blue Ribbon and a Red Ribbon, so the taste is basically guaranteed.

The restaurant is on the 2nd floor. Weekday hours run from 11am to 10pm, with a break from 2:30pm to 5pm. On weekends there's no break — they're open from noon to 10pm straight through. Closed every Monday.

Pizza posters line the stairway up to the shop, giving off full pizza-specialist energy.

It reminded me of that childhood romance of shopping and strolling around during the day, then ducking into a pizza place for a slice and a beer. This place delivers exactly that fantasy — and with a Blue Ribbon backing up the flavor, I'd definitely recommend a visit.

The white second-floor room and the view over Yeonnam-dong

The interior at Sunny's Pizza Market is all white tones and bright light, and the view out the window is honestly gorgeous. The vibe works whether you drop by during the day or in the evening. There's no shortage of food in Yeonnam-dong and Hongdae, but finding a genuinely good spot is hard — this is the kind of place that keeps popping back into my head after just one visit.

You can also order pizzas half-and-half, and there's a solid lineup of flavors and dishes to choose from.

Cheese, Margherita, Pepperoni, Potato, Hawaiian, Combination — plenty of options on the menu.

The one marked "P" is the small size — and the price is unbelievably cheap, right!? At first I thought it'd be tiny, meant for one person, but it turned out to be plenty for two. The size was just right for sharing. I ordered a pepperoni pizza.

While browsing the menu further, I noticed side dishes like pasta and buffalo wings and drumettes. Ordered 10 of those.

Unlimited pickles and dipping sauces at the self-serve bar

One great thing about eating pizza in-house here: you get free, unlimited access to pickles and all kinds of sauces.

When you order pizza elsewhere, dipping sauce costs ₩500 each, but here you can just grab as much as you want. Isn't that amazing!? Personally I sometimes think the crust dipped in sauce tastes even better than the pizza itself, so this let me enjoy the whole pizza down to the last bite.

The view outside was so beautiful. Not too hot, just that crisp fall weather, which put me in a great mood — really charming.

The wings and drumettes arrived, cooked to a mouthwatering golden brown — tender and juicy, cooked just right.

How does the 10,900-won P-size pepperoni pizza taste?

The pizza arrived — pepperoni, P-size, ₩10,900. Can you see the size!? It's plenty for two to share, and if you're a big eater and want to go all out solo, order this and dig in. I actually saw a few people eating and drinking alone here.

As soon as I served it up, the cheese stretched long and the crust was soft, loaded with toppings — the first bite was packed full of pure pizza flavor. The cheese's richness and nuttiness were incredible.

Dipped it in unlimited garlic sauce to my taste, and the combination of pepperoni, cheese, and crust was outrageously good the whole way through.

Pizza and chicken for 20,000 won: an easy solo drink in Yeonnam-dong

Pizza and chicken together for ₩20,000... this is a price you can casually come drink alone to without any guilt. Being able to enjoy this in Yeonnam-dong makes me happy.

The pizza quality doesn't feel cheapened just because it's only ₩10,000 — the toppings and cheese are generous, no skimping. A single slice at a bakery would probably run over ₩4,000. And more importantly, the flavor itself is on another level entirely from other pizzas I've had — you understand exactly why it got the Blue Ribbon the moment you taste it.

I dragged the very last bite through the garlic dipping sauce and enjoyed the crust all the way to the end. The dough itself was chewy, and it was delicious just dipped in sauce on its own.

If you're around Yeonnam-dong or Hongdae and craving a solo drink, solo meal, or solo beer, this is a spot you can head to without a second thought. Great for daytime drinking too, and the prices are so easy that you should just stop by casually and try it. You'll see there's a real reason this Blue Ribbon restaurant earned that title.
