Paju café near Peace Nuri Park: condensed milk latte, On the Rail

On the Rail is a café at 25 Imjingang-ro, Munsan-eup, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, open from 11am until 2am every single day of the year. We stumbled onto it while looking for a nearby café after visiting Imjingak Peace Nulli Park.

The weather's been so good lately with autumn coming! We'd been to Imjingak Peace Nulli Park and it felt like a waste to just head straight home — the sky was pretty, the breeze was cool, so we looked up cafés nearby and stumbled onto On the Rail!!!! We visited in daytime and loved it so much I already want to come back at night — this Paju café near Imjingak.

Where On the Rail is and when it opens

25 Imjingang-ro, Munsan-eup, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open every day of the year until 2am, opening at 11am. On the way there we crossed some train tracks, which brought back memories haha ^^

High ceilings keep On the Rail from feeling cramped

Once inside, the ceilings were really tall. Maybe that's why the interior never felt stuffy or closed in — such a good sense of openness!

The café is a good size, and with the view out the windows too, it was great to sit and relax while looking outside.

The drink prices were reasonable for this! The interior in every corner was clean and pretty without feeling cluttered!

The bakery counter holds far more bread than expected

Right as we walked in, the showcase on the right had fruit cakes and all kinds of desserts on display.

There were more types of bread than I expected. We just wanted a light coffee, but somehow ended up mesmerized, staring at the displayed bread for a while haha

From Anpanman cookies that kids would love, to mocha buns, croissants, Mont Blanc, and all sorts of bakery goods calling out to me — but we'd just eaten a meal right before, so... too bad;;;

My husband got an Americano, I got a condensed milk latte! And a financier!!

The coffee at On the Rail is good too

Even the parchment paper lining the tray had a nice vibe! Everything was in brown tones, which fits autumn perfectly, right?

The financier was a pretty generous size, so we cut it in half and shared it nicely between us. It was surprisingly filling and paired well with the coffee ^^

One side of the café is floor-to-ceiling glass, so the outside view was clearly visible, which I loved, and there were tables out on the outdoor balcony too.

The little decor pieces scattered around the café had good taste, and seeing the greenery and autumn leaves through the small windows put me in an even better mood.

Open until 2am? A late-night café in Paju

I guess I was the only one who didn't know about On the Rail. I come to the Paju area often but had no idea there was a late-night café like this. Since COVID it's been hard to find a café open late, so there was nowhere for a coffee after a night drive — turns out this place is already well known among people looking for late-night cafés in Paju.

Why autumn is the right time to visit On the Rail

The first thing I loved when we arrived was the atmosphere around the café! The day we visited had great weather too, so the outdoor scenery was really pretty.

On the Rail also has an outdoor terrace space, so on a cool day it seems great to have a coffee outside.

It seems good for anyone looking for an outdoor café in Paju in weather like this — not too hot or cold. My husband and I love cafés with this kind of open, relaxed feel, so we were both satisfied as soon as we arrived haha

Fitting for a café you reach by crossing train tracks, there's a small rail track and a car on display to the right of the On the Rail building, which seems like it would make a great photo spot if visiting with kids.

This time we visited in bright daylight, but next time I want to go on purpose in the evening! On the Rail, discovered by chance after Imjingak!!! If you're looking for a café open late around Paju or Imjingak, save this one and stop by sometime!
