Power-outlet solo seats at a Starfield Suwon café: Jeong Jiyeong

Went to Starfield Suwon with my sister for a coffee break haha. We stopped by Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch, from the roastery that's also famous for coffee in Haenggung-dong.

Where Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon is, and what the space feels like

Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch is on the 2nd floor of Starfield Suwon~ It's right there when you go up the escalator from the entrance near Hwaseo Station, so it's not hard to find at all!

This is what the café entrance looks like when you first arrive! We went around 3-4pm on a weekday so it wasn't crowded, which I liked, nice and relaxed.

You can't really see the inside seating from outside, but there are seats tucked away behind the counter like this. We grabbed a 2-person table~

The single-row seats with power outlets, best for solo visits

This single-row table looked great for sitting alone! There were outlets under the seats for charging your phone or iPad — such a thoughtful touch haha.

There's also a bar-table style seating area wrapping around the red pillar in the middle.

Here's what the seating next to the red pillar looks like! Mostly 2-person seats, and though it's hard to see in the photo, it seems like 3-person seating is possible too~

And on the right side of the shop there's a display of coffee beans along with all kinds of goods — cups, hats, ballpoint pens — and even a doll of 'Suwoni,' Suwon's representative mascot character.

Menu, decaf beans and oat milk swaps

Jeong Jiyeong Coffee really has such a wide menu — from coffee to desserts, there was so much I wanted to try that it was hard to choose haha. In the end we ordered the signature coconut latte and a decaf americano! (Decaf option, oat milk option both available!)

For pregnant customers, switching to decaf is free, so keep that in mind~ :)

The slice cakes and fig sourdough in the showcase kept catching my eye, but we'd already had a big lunch... so dessert will have to wait for next time 🥲 Still looks so good even now haha.

While waiting for our order, I checked out the posters on the café wall~ A misugaru (roasted grain powder) latte with vanilla added..? Sounds like it could be really good.

How does the coffee taste? Decaf americano and coconut latte

While we waited, our order got ready! Coconut latte, hot decaf americano.

Honestly, I never expect much flavor-wise when I order decaf... I only order it when I want coffee but want to avoid caffeine in the afternoon. But Jeong Jiyeong Coffee's decaf was surprisingly tasty!!

Reading the bean description, it said Colombia Suprimo decaf. It seemed to be a bean characterized by brown sugar, dark chocolate, full body, and a clean finish — low acidity and a heavy, hearty body in the cup.

How sweet is the signature coconut latte?

My sister, who loves sweets, ordered the coconut latte — I stirred it well like the staff explained, and yep, it was quite sweet, but more like a nicely balanced sweetness rather than over-the-top?

It came with a straw as a set so I snapped a photo haha. I kept stealing sips from my sister's cup between sips of my americano — it had a weirdly addictive taste!

Is Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon worth a stop?

Overall it was a great café for enjoying good coffee in a clean, relaxed atmosphere. Visiting on a weekday afternoon meant it was relatively quiet, so it was easy to chat comfortably with my sister, and there were plenty of seating options that would work well solo too.

I especially didn't expect much from the decaf americano but it turned out really satisfying, and the coconut latte, being the signature menu item, is worth trying once if you like sweet drinks! I'd recommend stopping by when you want a break while shopping at Starfield Suwon, or just want to relax with a cup of coffee :)
