In short
Omil Seongsu is a pasta and brunch restaurant on Achasan-ro 5-gil near Seongsu Station in Seongdong, Seoul. Stopping in on a workday lunch break, the writer ordered bacon cream pasta, basil tomato ade and the signature rubber duck omurice (omelet rice), and liked the thick, rich sauce and the chew of the whole bacon pieces. Omil Seongsu is a good choice when you want a proper sit-down lunch in Seongsu-dong.

Today I'm bringing you a review of Omil Seongsu, a pasta spot in Seongsu I visited on my lunch break from work haha. Sneaking out for something good to eat during lunch is one of the small joys of being an office worker, right? So I marched out for lunch this day, determined as ever~
Where is Omil Seongsu, and what are its hours?
Omil Seongsu is a pasta and brunch restaurant on the 1st floor, unit 101, at 37-1 Achasan-ro 5-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, near Seongsu Station. It's open daily from 11:30 to 21:15, with last order at 20:30.

It's close to my office so it was easy to pop in during lunch, and the place is way bigger than I expected! From outside I didn't think it'd be this size, but once you step in, the space is pretty spacious. I couldn't believe a Seongsu brunch spot like this was so close to work — figured I'd be coming back for lunch sometimes haha.

Inside Omil Seongsu: space and seating
Omil Seongsu has a generous amount of space inside and plenty of tables. The spacing between tables didn't feel cramped, which was nice, and it looked like a good place to eat with a group too. Overall it has a clean but cute vibe — the kind of space that lifts your mood on top of the meal.

And the interior props are so cute, seriously — the vibe is maxed out haha. There were cute little decorations here and there, so browsing around was part of the fun. Anyone into this kind of cute detail will be completely won over. When I look for brunch in Seongsu, I care as much about atmosphere as the food, and Omil Seongsu delivered on that front too!

What does the basil tomato ade taste like?
I was curious about the basil tomato ade on the menu, so I ordered it!! Doesn't the name alone make you curious haha. Basil and tomato in an ade — what on earth would that taste like, I wondered... and it was so good. Refreshing, with the basil aroma coming through subtly, and it worked way better than I expected. It was my first time trying this combo, and maybe that's exactly why it stuck with me.

Bacon cream pasta with a thick, rich sauce
Next up, the bacon cream pastaaa ㅠ As a certified cream pasta addict, this was genuinely amazing... ㅠㅠ Anyone who loves cream pasta simply cannot walk past this visual. The sauce looked thick from the start, so I grabbed my fork the second it landed haha. If you're looking for pasta in Seongsu and you love cream pasta, I recommend this one.

See how thick and rich that sauce is? Seriously, it clung to every strand of pasta ㅠㅠ And the bacon wasn't the thin sliced kind — it was whole bacon, cut into good bite-sized pieces, so the chew was on point too. A bite of bacon plus a forkful of thick cream pasta together — ah, this is it, haha. The bacon portion wasn't stingy either, and it paired perfectly with the noodles.

The signature rubber duck omurice (omelet rice)
And then the restaurant's signature dish, the rubber duck omurice (omelet rice)!! It comes with an actual rubber duck ㅠㅠ hahaha, so cute ㅠㅠ The moment it lands next to the omurice, you just have to take a photo first haha. The visual is way too cute... They said it's Omil Seongsu's signature menu, and I instantly got why it's a duck haha.
Cutting around the quail eggs arranged like little ducklings, slicing carefully... The quail eggs are clustered together like ducklings, so there's this fun little challenge of cutting around them. The rubber duck was cute, the quail egg decoration was cute, honestly the whole plate felt almost too pretty to eat... but you've got to eat, so I sliced right in.

Ahh ㅠㅠ it was really so good... the seasoning on the omurice was just right too. The egg and rice together weren't overly seasoned, and it was genuinely delicious. Because the visual was so cute, I'd honestly lowered my expectations for the taste a little, so it being good too made it even better haha.
Passing the rubber duck toy to kids at the next table
But what really stuck with me that day was that there were kids at the table next to mine. I figured they'd love the rubber duck, so before leaving, I quietly handed it to them. Their mom was so, so grateful, thanking me over and over, that I ended up feeling even more thankful myself haha ㅠㅠ Turns out the kids had wanted to order the omurice for the duck, but were told it might be a bit spicy for children, so they couldn't order it ㅠㅠ
Hearing that made me feel weirdly proud haha — it was just a small toy, nothing much, but seeing them so happy about it made me feel even better than they did. I went out for a good lunch and left with a warm heart too 🥹 Seongsu pasta to an adorable omurice — a proper lunch at Omil Seongsu!
