Today I'm introducing a restaurant that stands out even among Seongsu's hot spots! I visited with my sweetie wanting to eat something delicious and take some pretty photos, and the plating at this Seongsu restaurant, Omil, was so lovely that I really enjoyed it.

Where is Omil Seongsu, and what are its hours?
Omil Seongsu is about a 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 1, and it's a clean, nicely atmospheric spot where you can enjoy a relaxed brunch. Whenever I recommend Seongsu pasta restaurants for dates, this place always comes up too since it has some distinctive pasta dishes — I highly recommend it haha.

Inside Omil Seongsu: window seats and rubber duck decor
The inside of Omil Seongsu has floor-to-ceiling windows facing outside, so you can enjoy brunch bathed in bright sunlight — really lovely. Since it's known as a date spot, the seating is mostly 2-top and 4-top tables.

The little "Omil" duck illustrations decorating the walls were cute too, and overall the place had a modern, clean vibe as a Seongsu restaurant.

The rubber ducks and cute props decorating the walls were especially fun to look at, and instead of a buzzer or table-order tablet, you ring a bell and a staff member comes to take your order — I loved that part too haha.

What comes in the 48,700-won 2-person set at Omil Seongsu?
The Omil Seongsu menu is organized into mains, sides, and drinks, and there's a good-value set menu too haha. We tend to order the set menu whenever one's available, so this time we went with the 2-person set again haha.
- 2-person set menu 48,700
- Rubber duck omurice swap 1,000
- Gochujang butter pasta swap 3,000

There's a self bar set up too, so you can grab water and other essentials yourself, and pickles were provided as well.

The food came out pretty quickly, and clearly being a popular brunch spot in hot Seongsu shows — the plating was so cute and lovely haha. It seemed great for a date, but also perfect for a group of women getting together.

They also gave us this adorable rubber duck as a service item — the duck wearing a tube float was just too cute.

Rubber duck omurice: fried rice with salmon inside
First up, ta-da! Omil Seongsu's signature dish, the rubber duck omurice — look at how each quail egg is placed on top, it's really adorable haha.

They even made a cute duck out of black sesame and cheese — the attention to detail was wonderful. But pretty and cute can't make up for lacking taste, right?! So I took a bite right away.

The sauce wasn't too strong — smooth and savory — and the egg was cooked soft and fluffy, genuinely delicious haha. The fried rice inside had a distinctive addition: salmon, and you could catch its subtle flavor and aroma every few bites — I really enjoyed it haha.

Omil soba maki, the side to order at Omil Seongsu
I also really recommend the omil soba maki — the ingredients are just buckwheat noodles, egg, cucumber, and sauce, but the aroma and flavor spreading in your mouth was so much more varied and delicious than that simple combination suggests, so I definitely recommend it as a side!! This soba maki also has cute little faces drawn on the egg, which was a really nice touch — I'm not recommending this as a Seongsu date spot for nothing!

Gochujang butter pasta: why Omil Seongsu is known for it
And another highly distinctive dish that's made Omil famous as a Seongsu pasta restaurant — the 'gochujang butter pasta'! It's also called K-butter pasta and is even sold at convenience stores, so I'd tried it before, but since this place is said to be the original, I ordered it again.
The pasta comes with a slightly spicy sauce as the standout, a softly cooked steak, and gochujang butter on top. While the dish is still hot, you mix the butter in well, then eat.

The steak seemed to be sous vide cooked — it had a really tender texture — and eating it with the gochujang sauce gave off a sort of Korean-food feel.
The noodles were more generous than I expected too, so the portion was really filling, and the thick, coated noodles and sauce were so delicious haha.

Piling a piece of steak on top, you get the spicy, savory gochujang butter sauce, the noodle texture, and the rich yet tender meat all at once — I loved being able to taste so many different flavors in a single bite.
Is Omil Seongsu worth it for a Seongsu-dong brunch date?
Today I visited Omil, a Seongsu restaurant where you can enjoy a filling yet pretty brunch in a neighborhood full of things to see. The clean, cutely decorated interior made for a great atmosphere, so I'd definitely recommend it as a date spot!! The plating and flavors were both so good that it's become known as a Seongsu pasta favorite, and it also seems like a great pick for group visits — overall, a Seongsu restaurant I'd recommend, Omil.
