Salmon steak gnocchi at Omil Seongsu, a Seongsu-dong brunch spot
In short
Omil Seongsu is a Western-style brunch restaurant tucked into an alley on Achasan-ro 5-gil in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, best known for its rubber duck omurice. On a weekday visit at 2pm with no wait, the order was salmon steak gnocchi at 19,900 won, rubber duck omurice at 16,900 won and pineapple ade at 6,900 won, and the thick gnocchi sauce with salmon was the highlight. Flavours at Omil Seongsu are mild rather than punchy, which makes it work for families with children as well as a cosy date.

Today I went on a date in Seongsu-dong and stopped by Omil Seongsu, a place that's been going viral for its visuals. It's delicious and cute at the same time, so it's a great spot for a proper little healing session. Let's get into the honest review.
Where is Omil Seongsu and what are its hours?
Omil Seongsu is on the 1st floor of 37-1 Achasan-ro 5-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. It's about an 8-minute walk from Exit 1 of Seongsu Station.
Hours are 11:30-21:15, last order 20:30. *Closed on September 25, 2026 for Chuseok.
Is there parking at Omil Seongsu?
Omil Seongsu doesn't have its own parking lot, so you'll need to use a nearby public parking lot. There's one right next door, the Seongsu 2-ga 3-dong public lot, but it's often full, so I'd recommend public transit instead. Parking is really tough on weekends, and on weekdays spots open up a bit after the lunch rush.
Inside Omil Seongsu: a look around
The moment you turn into the alley, there's a facade full of atmosphere. Red brick vibes, perfect. This alley has that old-school Seongsu feel, so it's great for photos.
How long is the wait, and can you book?
Omil Seongsu takes waitlist entries through CatchTable. I visited on a weekday at 2pm and had no wait, but if you come during weekday lunch hours expect 20-30 minutes, and up to an hour on weekends — so I'd recommend joining the waitlist and going around the Seongsu pop-ups in the meantime, haha. Reservations are possible through Naver and CatchTable.
Stepping inside, it's a completely different mood from outside. Warm-toned lighting is on, making it feel cozy. The tables aren't spaced super wide apart, but it's not cramped either — fine for a date or eating with a kid. The window seats have big windows that bring in the alley atmosphere too, great for a couple's brunch.

The inner seats look a bit cozier. I noticed families with kids heading there. Maybe because of the cute menu, it's popular with families. Even I, an adult child, got excited 😁

Self-bar and house-made pickles
The self-bar. Water isn't set on the table by default, so if you need water, you scoop it yourself at the self-bar. Wet wipes and napkins are ready too, and there are homemade pickles that are genuinely delicious. I normally don't even eat pickles with pizza, but at Omil I do 😁

The restroom is indoors too. Even the restroom vibe is good, ugh. They even have mouthwash ready — the owner's sense of detail is amazing. You can rinse your mouth before you head out.

Pineapple ade, 6,900 won

Pineapple Ade, ₩6,900. The first drink to arrive, and Omil Seongsu's pineapple ade is genuinely delicious. It's the drink I always order here. Just the right amount of carbonation, sweet and refreshing. It comes in a glass that looks like it's from SpongeBob's house, which adds extra cuteness.

Rubber duck omurice, 16,900 won
Rubber Duck Omurice, ₩16,900. Ahh, so cute. This isn't my first visit but the cuteness gets me every time, haha. The highlight is the quail eggs shaped like a duck's face. They also give you a rubber duck as a little souvenir, and since it's summer, it's even wearing a tube float. Small, precious duck~ The baby at the next table eyed my duck, but my inner introvert couldn't speak up, so... I couldn't give it away. This one's mine now, adult child privilege 😎

A shame to break it apart, but I was hungry so I dug in anyway 😆 The egg is so soft the spoon just slides right in. The flavor is mild, not too strong, so it's great for kids too. As the adult child that I am, it was even better with the sauce.

Thick yet tender egg, and cute quail eggs. I want that egg blanket again...
Little rubber duck friends?! Come on into my mouth.

What does the salmon steak gnocchi (19,900 won) taste like?
Salmon Steak Gnocchi, ₩19,900. I was torn between pasta and gnocchi — Omil Seongsu's pasta was genuinely delicious last time, but I hadn't tried the gnocchi yet, so this time I went for it.

They told me to mash the salmon and mix it with the sauce, but I wanted to try it plain first, so I took one bite of just the salmon. It's more of a crispy-outside style than a moist one, cooked a bit more through.
The gnocchi, wow. That chewiness no Korean can resist. It's a shame the photos don't fully capture how chewy it is.
Now, following the staff's instructions, I mashed the salmon and mixed it all together. It's a really thick, rich style. This is my first time trying this combination with salmon, and since the sauce has a slight kick of spice, eating it with the salmon makes it savory and just a touch spicy — the combination is really good. If there's one thing I wished for, it'd be a bit more sauce. It's just that good 😁
Is Omil Seongsu worth a visit?

The alley where Omil Seongsu sits definitely has fewer people than the area around Exits 3 and 4 of Seongsu Station, so you get a quieter, more relaxed meal — this was a visit to Omil in Seongsu-dong that was a treat for both the eyes and the mouth thanks to the cute visuals. Overall the flavors are mild and not too strong, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a restaurant to visit with kids, or for a cozy date spot.
