Tonkatsu and udon set lunch near Daeyeon Station: Misikga-ui Udon

When picking a lunch spot, am I the only one who's drawn more to a combination of a few things than just one single dish? Haha, I'm the type who's always eyeing the set menus.

This time too, while looking for lunch in Daeyeon-dong, I found a place where you can eat tonkatsu, panmemil (cold buckwheat noodles), and udon all together in one hearty meal, so I went and checked it out. It's close to Daeyeon Station so it's easy to find, and parking is supported too, which makes it great to visit even if you're driving!!!

The place I'm introducing today is Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch, a well-known spot near Daeyeon Station. I bet there aren't many people who've only been here once!!

Where is Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch, and is there parking?

Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch is located at 227 Suyeong-ro, 1st floor, Nam-gu, Busan, close to Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station, so it's convenient to get to by subway too. The sign is big and easy to spot from a distance.

I drove there and parked at the Busan Koryo Hospital parking lot. There's 1 hour free parking there too, so it takes some of the pressure off when coming for lunch near Daeyeon Station.

Inside, there's a comfortable space for eating alone, as well as plenty of tables good for groups or gatherings.

The space is divided up here and there so you can eat somewhat privately. Ordering is done via kiosk, and you can pay right at your seat, so there's no need to go up to the counter after eating — that was convenient too.

Ordering the jumbo panmemil set and the combo udon set

We spent a while looking at the menu and ordered the jumbo set panmemil and the combo set udon! The food came out filling the whole table, and as soon as we got it, I thought the combination was really better than expected.

Being able to eat tonkatsu and noodles together was especially perfect for someone like me who never wants to settle for just one dish.

How thick is the tonkatsu at Misikga-ui Udon?

First up, my beloved tonkatsu haha. Even at a glance, you can tell the breading is crispy and alive, and the thick cut of meat shows off how properly made this is haha.

The outside was crispy while the meat inside wasn't dry at all — it was moist enough to eat plain and still be delicious haha. But since I'm a sauce-and-wasabi person, once I added a bit of the wasabi and mustard that came with it, well, I just kept eating more and more. The sauce wasn't too strong either, so it was just right!

Personally I like tonkatsu that's thick but soft inside, and this was exactly my style, so I was satisfied.

And the thing I especially felt good about ordering that day was the panmemil.

The portion was generous and the noodles were nice and springy, so dipping them into the cold tsuyu sauce was so tasty.

I mixed a bit of wasabi into the tsuyu and dipped the noodles in it, and it was clean and refreshing — paired perfectly with the tonkatsu!!

A bite of tonkatsu, a chopstick full of cold soba — before you know it, your hand keeps going back for more, that kind of combo!!

Oh, and the udon from the combo set was tasty too.

The warm broth had springy udon noodles in it, plus tempura on top, so even just this bowl felt filling on its own haha.

The broth wasn't heavy or too salty either — it had a clean flavor that was easy to eat, and it went great with the tonkatsu too!!

How filling are the sets at Misikga-ui Udon?

Ordering the jumbo set and the combo set together was even better because we got to taste both the cold panmemil and the warm udon, and with the curry that came with the sets on top of that, it was a really hearty lunch.

This combination is a menu I'd absolutely recommend. And there's even salad!!! It's such a solid combination that if you're stuck deciding what to eat, I'd say go for the combo or jumbo set without hesitation.

Evenings at Misikga-ui Udon: soju and draft beer for 1,990 won with snacks

Since you can eat a little of many things at once, if you're looking for a Daeyeon Station lunch spot with good value set menus, this feels like a place I'd come to every day haha.

But while eating and glancing over the menu, something else caught my eye. This place doesn't just serve lunch — in the evening they also sell a variety of drinking snack menus, and get this — soju and draft beer are ₩1,990!!! You might ask if that's even real haha. I thought, this is a place I have to come back to in the evening too.

A place for tonkatsu, udon, and soba at lunch, and drinks with snacks in the evening. If it were in my neighborhood, I'd say I'd come every day haha. At the end, I even grabbed a cup of coffee to wrap things up neatly — Misikga-ui Udon really has great value!!

It's right outside Exit 6 of Daeyeon Station so it's easy to get to, and with parking support too, it's a place I really want to recommend. Almost all ingredients are domestically sourced haha, so it's a place you can really trust — I'm definitely coming back whenever I'm near Daeyeon Station.
