Dunsan-dong Italian restaurant, peach-noodle cacio e pepe: Plate

The restaurant I'm introducing today is Plate, located in Dunsan-dong!! Plate is a Western-food spot I visit pretty often >,< a place where you can try handmade fresh noodles. I'd been not long before, but I got curious about the other menu items so I went again 🤍

Where is Plate Dunsan Branch? Hours and parking

• ⏰Hours: Daily 11:00–21:30
• 🅿️Parking: Available in the building (max 2 hours, 1 car only)

Plate is really close to Galleria — think of it as the building right in front of Itaeri Guksu (이태리국시) and it'll be easy to find!! Just head up to the 2nd floor of the Rodeo Building 〰️

Whether you take the stairs or the elevator, Plate's entrance is right there when you reach the 2nd floor!! The clear glass door gives off such a clean feel 🤍

Is Plate Dunsan Branch good for a first date? Inside the dining room

Inside Plate Dunsan Branch, the tables are spaced far apart so it's great for conversation too 〰️ The mood is upscale, so it also felt like a good spot for a blind date

Since it was a weekday, the lights toward the back seemed to be off, but there are seats further in too, so it's actually quite spacious 👍🏻

Choosing your own fresh noodle on the Plate order sheet

At Plate you order by looking at what doubles as a menu and an order sheet!! The number next to each dish shows the recommended noodle, but since Plate makes its own fresh noodles, you can actually choose your own noodle >,<

There's such a variety of noodle types like this, so you just pick whichever suits your taste ❕ You can write down the recommended number, but you're also free to choose whichever noodle you want

They sell wine as well as drinks, just so you know 😊

Oh!! Also, if you pay ₩30,000 or more in cash or by bank transfer you get ₩1,000 off, and if you take part in the Naver review event they give you ice cream!! Can't miss an event like this 〰️🔥

Pick your dish and noodle, hand it to the staff, and the order's done!! We ordered bacon cacio e pepe and truffle bacon cream gnocchi, and upgraded just one dish to the set menu

The side dish was radish pickles, which were good for cleansing the palate between bites 🥺

What comes with the 4,000 won set: salad, bread and corn soup

The salad, bread, and soup that come with the set!!

The salad had a slight garlic dressing feel, sweet and so tasty..? I genuinely scraped the plate clean haha

The bread came with whipped cream too, sweet and pairs really well as expected!

The soup was corn soup, sweet and delicious!!!!!! Dipping the bread that comes with it is also tasty,,✨ It's only ₩4,000 more, so personally I'd recommend upgrading one dish to the set ❕

Bacon cacio e pepe (10,900 won) with peach-shaped noodles

I personally love cacio e pepe so this was the dish I ordered!! A pasta with a strong pepper and cheese flavor, and the salty bacon on top pairs so well with it 🥺🤍

You can tell just by looking how thick and rich it looks 〰️

I went with the recommended peach-shaped noodle, and sure enough the noodle had a firm bite with good chew, and it soaked up the seasoning well so it was delicious 🤍 The one small letdown was that the sauce was too thin — I wished it had been reduced down a bit more for more flavor,,? Though honestly scooping up the sauce on its own is tasty in its own way >,< kind of like a cream pasta without the cream,, If you like pepper and cheese, you'll probably be very satisfied!!

Truffle bacon cream gnocchi (15,900 won) at Plate Dunsan

As a gnocchi lover, of course I ordered gnocchi too!!

The cream sauce was thick and rich, with a strong truffle flavor too, so it was delicious just scooped up on its own ᅲᅲ On top of that the chewy potato-packed gnocchi made me genuinely happy,,🤍

If you're looking for a good Western restaurant in Dunsan-dong!! I recommend Plate 🤍 The menu is just right for a date or a blind date, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for that kind of spot too. Actually, on the day I went, there was another couple there on a blind date,,🩷
