In short
Deureomtong Sotttukkeong Dakdoritang is a drum-cooked dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken stew) restaurant in Noheung-dong, Jeju City, near Jeju Airport. Each table has its own drum-can burner for simmering the 2-person sotttukkeong dakbokkeumtang, and the writer also ordered dakgomtang (chicken soup) for their baby, seated in the provided baby chair. A retro bar near Jeju Airport where you can enjoy spicy dakdoritang made with domestic chicken, simmered in a sotttukkeong (iron cauldron lid) with drum-can vibes — "Deureomtong Sotttukkeong Dakdoritang"

Deureomtong Sotttukkeong Dakdoritang is located in Noheung-dong, near Jeju Airport! Once the black pork in Jeju started to feel a bit heavy, I got pulled in by the red sign, haha.
There's parking space beside the building, and if it's full, there's a public parking lot 3 minutes away on foot.

Retro interior good for group dinners, with a drum-can at every table
The interior is really spacious and pleasant~ The tables were spread out generously, which looked great for a group dinner, and sure enough, the table next to us had a group of young coworkers having their own dinner gathering. With the retro atmosphere, the drinks would go down smoothly.

Each table had one drum-can burner set up, and cooking right beside the table felt like camping indoors!
Simmering it right next to you like that makes it taste even better, right?

Side dishes from the self-serve corner
Basic side dishes were easy to grab from the self-serve corner. Pickled onions, cabbage kimchi, corn macaroni salad, and braised potatoes.

A set of 4 kinds of side dishes, haha. The sweet braised potatoes balanced out the spiciness so well that I refilled them twice.

How big is the sotttukkeong dakbokkeumtang (2-person) portion?
The staff set everything up, and there was a timer — once it rang, all I had to do was scoop it up with a ladle and eat, haha.

It came out piled high in a huge pot — the visual was insane. This was my first time eating something simmered thoroughly in a sotttukkeong, so I was really looking forward to the taste.
It might be a common dish, but eating it in a sotttukkeong felt fresh~ Seeing locals drop by in casual clothes for a drink made me think this place was truly a hidden gem!
This is a 2-person portion? My partner and I are pretty big eaters, but the portion here was so large we ended up sharing just one bowl of rice.

The portion is genuinely huge, so it's great as a first stop, and with all that visual appeal, I'd recommend it as a second stop too!
The strength here is the thick broth loaded with minced garlic and various secret seasonings, which you can ladle out as much as you want.

If you're with a baby, get the dakgomtang
I ordered dakgomtang (chicken soup) as a meal for my baby. The store had a baby chair, so we could eat comfortably.
The savory broth was packed with chicken and glass noodles, and the chicken was shredded so soft that my baby ate it happily without any fuss — I felt so proud, haha.

My baby is pretty picky, but she slurped down the dakgomtang here and finished the whole bowl! The menu composition here is solid too, which made it even more satisfying~

Tender chicken, quail eggs, rice cakes, and potatoes were all mixed in as toppings, so it was fun picking through them~

Spice level
It's not a capsaicin-bomb kind of spicy — it's a hearty spiciness from lots of red pepper flakes! There was a lot of savory depth, and the broth was rich.

Deureomtong Sotttukkeong Dakdoritang is famous as a spot loved by locals. Seeing so many local uncles in the store, I could just tell it was going to be delicious! If you're looking for a bar near Jeju Airport with great food to go with your drinks, I'd recommend this place.
