Jeonju street-food restaurant with slushy beer: Munkkocchi
In short
Munkkocchi Mungangjeong Jeonju Hanok Village Branch is a street-food restaurant in Jeonju Hanok Village, Jeonju. We had teriyaki chicken skewers, a katsuobushi octopus skewer, and slushy beer at the outdoor tables for 18,000 won. Verdict: the katsuobushi octopus skewer is the one I want to eat again in Jeonju.

Finding Munkkocchi Mungangjeong in Jeonju Hanok Village
Munkkocchi Mungangjeong Jeonju Hanok Village Branch (문꼬치문강정 전주한옥마을점) is on the first floor at 35 Eunhaeng-ro, Wansan-gu, Jeonju. It is open 11:30–20:30 Monday through Friday, 11:00–22:00 on Saturday, and 11:00–21:00 on Sunday; last orders are at 20:00, 21:30, and 20:30 respectively.
For parking, use Hanok Village Public Parking Lots 1 or 2. It costs ₩1,200 for the first 30 minutes, then ₩600 for every additional 15 minutes, up to ₩14,400.
Coming from the Jeonju Hanok Village public parking lot, head down the alley between Lots 1 and 2, pass Hwanggeum Sibwonppang, turn left at the Haru Ilgi intersection, then walk about 30 m toward the Donghak Revolution Memorial Hall. The Munkkocchi and Mungangjeong shop is right beside the 600-year-old ginkgo tree.

The street food I wanted before our Jeonju trip
Today I want to introduce Munkkocchi (octopus skewers) and Mungangjeong, two signature Jeonju Hanok Village street foods :) I had decided I absolutely had to eat them even before coming on this Jeonju trip, haha.

They also sell Mungangjeong, chicken skewers, and slushy beer besides Munkkocchi, haha. If I had not eaten lunch, I think I would have tried everything LOL. By the way, this was a 50%-discounted visit! Half of it was paid with my own money, haha.

It is Jeonju Hanok Village street food, but the outdoor seating area was nice and spacious too! Haha, four tables in all. Usually, the proper way to eat street food is while walking down the street, right? Haha. But sitting at an outdoor table like this, with lovely weather and delicious food, was so relaxing.

Our order list: my husband had the boneless teriyaki chicken skewer for ₩5,000, I had the katsuobushi octopus skewer for ₩5,000, plus two slushy beers at ₩4,000 each = ₩8,000! Order complete for ₩18,000!!!

Kelly slushy draft beer
The slushy beer is Kelly draft beer! The size was about 250–300 cc? Haha. You can leave out the slush! But if you want it extra cold, I recommend the slush. It was delicious! Jeonju has a Hite factory, so Kelly is Hite here, right? Haha. Lots of places serve Kelly draft beer, and since it comes straight from the factory, it definitely tastes better than in other areas! Haha.

Ppoppo was sitting beside us too, haha. She has been through a lot at 13, LOL. She has a disc problem these daysㅠㅠ, so she was not eating well, and after the first day of the trip, she was not feeling well the next day and had a hard timeㅜㅜ. We wanted to stay one more night, but ended up keeping it to one night and two days ㅠㅠ. Still, I love Jeonju so much that I am planning to go again LOL. After only taking overseas trips, traveling around Korea again really makes me realize how delicious the food is! Korean food is the best!!!

Boneless teriyaki chicken and katsuobushi octopus skewers
Ta-da, both the boneless teriyaki chicken skewer and katsuobushi octopus skewer arrived! They make them fresh as soon as you order, so they were so delicious! Haha. I already love chicken skewers, but I was so curious about the octopus skewer that I ordered it! Haha. So excited!!!

On the right is the boneless teriyaki chicken skewer, and on the left is the katsuobushi octopus skewer! They cost the same: ₩5,000 each. The portions were surprisingly generous too! We had eaten a 12-dish baekban (Korean set meal) for lunch, LOL, so even this filled up a couple that does not eat much, LOL.

Spicy boneless teriyaki chicken skewer
The boneless teriyaki chicken skewer! It is big, right? Haha. ₩5,000 is absolutely not expensive! It was bigger than I expected, good quality, and delicious! Haha. You can choose spicy or mild, and I chose spicy. It was around Shin Ramyun level, but a little hotter! I have become such a lightweight with spicy food these daysㅠㅠ. But the spicy option definitely kept it from being greasy, and it was so good! Back in high school there was an explosive-flavor chicken skewer, and I have no idea how I ate that, LOL. I used to eat it often when I lived in Incheon, haha.

The katsuobushi octopus skewer I strongly recommend
This is the katsuobushi octopus skewer! Highly recommended!!! It is an octopus skewer, and the octopus was so delicious! I never knew eating octopus on a skewer could be this good! Haha. My husband said both were tasty, but the octopus skewer was better! Haha. I am eating this again when I go to Jeonju, ahh~~

After you finish, the trash bin is right across the street in front of you, haha. Please throw your trash away there! If you come to Jeonju, I strongly recommend trying Munkkocchi, Jeonju Hanok Village street food!!!
