Parking at Muhan Paldo was convenient since there's parking space inside the building. You just register your car at the counter.

The restaurant sits on a corner of the building, so it wasn't hard to find, and the clean exterior made me feel comfortable walking in.

Weekday evening atmosphere and group seating

I visited on a weekday evening, and the place was already crowded early with diners eating and drinking. Almost every table was full except for a few spots.

Tables are set up for 4 people by default, and when a bigger group comes, you can push tables together — great for company dinners or any kind of gathering.

Korean pork shavings, beef short rib shavings, pork shoulder shavings, frozen pork belly, shaved pork belly, flower pork belly — I could freely grab all these good-quality shaved meats from the self-serve bar without any hesitation.

The staff kept busily restocking the freezer and fridge so the meat never ran out.

There were also plenty of lettuce wraps and other vegetables to go with the meat, various sauces, mushrooms to grill alongside, seasoned bean sprouts, potatoes, bracken fern, and more.

And beyond the meat, there was plenty to eat on the side too — self-serve ramyeon (instant noodle soup), slushies, tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), and toast.

It was really reasonable, since it's ₩18,900 per adult regardless of lunch or dinner, weekday or weekend.

The time limit is 120 minutes on weekdays and 100 minutes on weekends. If you leave food uneaten, you'll be charged a ₩5,000 environmental fee, so only take what you'll actually eat~

I loved that there were so many side vegetables that go perfectly with grilled shaved pork belly — onions, enoki mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, potatoes, bracken fern, bean sprouts, kimchi, rice cakes — grilling them together with the meat's fat made everything so much tastier.

The best part of Muhan Paldo Daepae Jamsilsaenae Branch is really that you can grab as much as you want from the self-serve bar without worrying about the staff watching. I took plenty and ate to my heart's content.

Since it's shaved meat, it cooked almost instantly on the grill, so the meal kept going without any lull — I really got to experience the charm of shaved pork properly.
