Jamsil bar opening at 2pm for soy sauce egg rice: Wareureu Mansion

This time I want to introduce a Jamsil daytime drinking spot, a solid second-round bar in Bangi-dong: Wareureu Mansion. It's a regular bar, but it opens at 2pm, which makes it perfect for a daytime drink. It's located near Bangi Food Alley.

Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch is on the 2nd floor of a building in Bangi Food Alley (11-8 Geumho-ro 11-gil, 2nd floor, unit 201, Songpa-gu). Since it opens at 2pm, daytime drinking is possible.

I got there almost exactly at opening time, and right as I walked in it was so cool and comfortable, ah it felt great haha. I was surprised there were already two other groups who'd also done an opening-time run for daytime drinks like me... One of them even mistook me for staff and asked me to bring another draft beer haha. I won't forget that.

Inside Wareureu Mansion: a big screen and Shin-chan decor

This place would be perfect for watching a big national team match, that kind of thing.

The basic side dishes came out fast right after we sat down.

They must really love Shin-chan. I liked Shin-chan as a kid too, and I remember drawing every person's face as Shin-chan's face... As a side story, my little cousin once bit my cheek, and my aunt bought me a Shin-chan comic book to keep me quiet lol. Of course my mom found out and my aunt got completely scolded for it.

Maybe because it brought back old memories, I was in a great mood.

₩100 draft beer when you enter before 7pm

At Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch, if you enter before 7pm, one draft beer per person is ₩100. Draft beer is normally around ₩1,900 for 300cc, so ₩100 is a real steal.

The side dishes at Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch are mostly Korean food, but there's also fried food, pasta, and even pizza. Main dishes were usually priced around ₩20,000–30,000.

There were really a lot of side dish options, mostly Korean food. There was also fried food, pasta, and pizza that go well with beer... it's almost like a hybrid bar. We ordered the spicy tendon and shank hotpot and the two-plus Hanwoo beef tartare with seared brisket wrap. And also soy sauce egg rice. Main dishes usually run ₩20,000 to ₩30,000.

We quickly knocked back the ₩100 draft beer. It felt kind of like getting a ₩3,000 tip, that sense of making money, which felt really good.

Breaking the yolk over it made it feel even softer. It was like my throat got coated, and the soju just slid right down.

Mixing it with the soy sauce egg rice we ordered basically turned it into beef tartare bibimbap and brisket-soy-sauce egg rice, wouldn't you say?

Soy sauce egg rice (ganjang gyeranbap). The portion of rice was huge. Great to order if you want to combine a meal with a drink.

The broth was completely spicy and rich, and the meat was super tender. There was plenty of tendon too, with a nice chewy texture — basically a bestseller-level dish.

My friend from Seoul was drinking a new brand, so I decided to try something new too after a while... Switching from the green bottle to the white one made me feel younger somehow, and it was nice (!!!)

Is Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch worth it for daytime drinking in Jamsil?

At Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch, every dish came fully cooked, so there was nothing to worry about during our daytime drinking session. Even though it was daytime drinking under a bright sun, I didn't feel that sudden wave of drunkenness.

It's definitely nice eating at a place like this. At a Korean BBQ place, you have to grill, flip, cut, plate it yourself, eat the cold leftovers, so many things to manage — but here everything comes already cooked... Usually daytime drinking under a bright sun makes you feel drunk fast, but not here. The atmosphere was good and even the side dishes were delicious haha.
