Bangi-dong bar for beef tartare wrap and yogurt ice cream: Wareureu

In short

Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch is a Korean restaurant and bar in Songpa, Seoul, that opened two months ago on the 2nd floor of the Tamtam building at the entrance to Bangi Food Alley. After a run at Olympic Park, the writer ordered Jonggatjip yangnyeom boneless fried chicken, premium (1++ grade) Korean beef tartare with seared beef wrap, and Wareureu yogurt ice cream at 8,500 won; the chicken tasted too sweet, but the beef tartare wrap was good enough to come back for. With a large TV screen, blankets and phone charging, Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch works well for friends and group gatherings.

After a run at Olympic Park, we headed straight to Bangi Food Alley for an evening drink~!

Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch is a Korean-style restaurant and bar with such a huge menu that my friend and I

kept going "I want this! I want this!" So in the end we compromised and picked this one🤝 We chose this place on a whim like a meme with zero planning and honestly nailed it haha, would love to come back

Where is Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch, and can you reserve?

A brand new bar only two months old!! The menu is really, really huge...,, Reservations possible through Naver Reservations!!! ₩100 draft beer if you get there before 7 PM!!!

Inside: sofa seats, group tables and a large TV screen

Inside, Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch has a retro-vibe interior with mostly 4-person tables and sofa seating along the sides. It also had solid amenities — a large TV screen, blankets, phone charging, and Wi-Fi via QR code.

You could kind of guess from the name "OO Mansion" but yep, retro-vibe interior

4-person tables and sofa seating arranged along the sides

Most of the seats are 4-person tables and sofa seating along the sides, and they were really comfortable. The AC was blasting too — after running in the humidity and heat, it felt amazing. Even though it's a new bar, it's already popular; at around 9 PM there were barely any seats left

On top of that, they had a large TV screen, blankets, phone charging, Wi-Fi QR connection — thoughtful amenities all around

We had a TV behind each of us so from far away it looked like we were facing each other, but in reality our eyes were pointed in totally different directions...

How to order: the tablet kiosk on each table

Ordering at Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch is done through a tablet kiosk at the table, and the menu just keeps scrolling. The Wareureu yogurt ice cream dessert is customizable — we added shine muscat grapes and granola to the ₩8,500 base.

The tablet kiosk menu just kept scrolling forever, and every dish looked well put together, so it was fun picking... though also a bit exhausting..

For dessert we had the Wareureu yogurt ice cream, which is customizable — we added shine muscat and granola!! Base price is ₩8,500

There was even a jjimjilbang-drink themed set — the concept is pretty out there

Jonggatjip yangnyeom boneless fried chicken: how sweet is it?

The Jonggatjip yangnyeom boneless fried chicken (양념순살치킨) at Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch is a dakgangjeong-style seasoned fried chicken. The crispy texture was fine, but the sweetness was strong and the sauce quite heavy — it could be a bit much for two people to share.

Not Chegatjip, it's Jonggatjip yangnyeom boneless chicken — dakgangjeong-style seasoned fried chicken. The crispy texture was fine, but the sweetness was strong and the sauce was pretty heavy, so it might be a bit much for two to finish. Still, kept reaching for one more bite!!

Premium Korean beef tartare with seared beef wrap: the dish to order

The premium beef (tuobul hanwoo) tartare with seared beef wrap (육회차돌쌈) at Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch was the most satisfying dish of the day. It was fresh and flavorful, and wrapping it up with wasabi, aged kimchi, and pickled radish made it fun to eat — it worked well enough as a main dish for two.

Known as the seared beef and tartare wrap recipe made famous by Kang Min-kyung — Wareureu Mansion's premium beef tartare with seared beef wrap was fresh and flavorful, so satisfying!!

The combination of seared beef and beef tartare,,! With wasabi, aged kimchi, and pickled radish also on hand, it was fun wrapping it up different ways. Great for protein refuel after exercise, and worked fine as a main for two — the meat texture and sauce balance were good enough that I'd want to come back just for this

When the aged kimchi and pickled radish ran low, we just asked for a free refill~! It also came with peanut sauce and sesame oil on the side

The meat and Korean dishes seemed to be higher quality than the fried chicken items — I'd love to try more variety next time ~~!!

Wareureu yogurt ice cream, 8,500 won for 300g

The Wareureu yogurt ice cream at Wareureu Mansion Bangi Branch comes in a base version for ₩8,500 at 300g. You can add fruit, honey, granola, and chocolate shell — we just added shine muscat and granola.

Wareureu yogurt ice cream topped with shine muscat grapes and granola

Felt like it'd be a shame to end without dessert, so we ordered this — is this basically Yoajeong (a popular yogurt ice cream chain)???? Nothing is impossible at Wareureu Mansion — fruit, honey, granola, chocolate shell, all addable. We only added shine muscat and granola

Full 300g serving of the yogurt ice cream

At 300g it seemed like plenty and maybe too much for two... but right after exercising haha, we finished it easily. Counted ten shine muscat grapes haha The refreshing ice cream paired really well after the heavier dishes — satisfying dessert

It was really huge but we finished it all hahahahaha
