Seongsu pasta restaurant for a first date, 69,000 won for two: Sedici

There are honestly so many pasta places in Seongsu, but the ones I actually go back to are surprisingly few..! Today I'm introducing a Seongsu pasta and gnocchi spot I've revisited multiple times: Sedici!

The food is consistently good across the board, the space feels clean and put-together, and the prices are pretty reasonable, so I end up coming here with friends, family, and even for work meetings. (I've seen quite a few blind dates and bridal shower groups here too, haha.)

Another big plus that's oddly rare in Seongsu... it's a restaurant where you can actually park. This time I stuck to pasta and gnocchi again, so let me leave a quick revisit review ✨

Is Sedici a good place for a first date or a wedding-invitation dinner?

The interior at Sedici is done in calm brown and wood tones overall. The lighting is soft and tables aren't packed too close together, so instead of that busy, noisy Seongsu-dong energy, it felt quiet and comfortable — a space that suited a blind date, a regular date, or a bridal shower where conversation really matters.

Beef tartare with the brioche add-on

First up was the beef tartare! It's a starter of finely chopped beef tossed with sauce and served on brioche, and you really should order the brioche add-on so you can pile the beef onto the bread to get the full experience.

It's a nice light bite to pick at before the mains arrive, and a solid choice as a starter if you're drinking wine or other alcohol alongside.

Shrimp crumble pasta at Sedici

This pasta comes with shrimp topped with crunchy crumble, so there's a fun bite of texture running through it. It's oil-based, so it doesn't get heavy, and I was able to finish the whole plate. It also pairs well with the other dishes without overpowering them, making it a great one to share.

Fried sweet corn potato gnocchi

I'd only ever had the mascarpone potato gnocchi before, so this was my first time trying the sweet corn version, and thanks to the corn it had an overall nutty, slightly sweet taste. Personally I lean toward the plainer flavor of the mascarpone, but the friend I went with prefers sweet dishes and said this one was better.

You can pick based on your own taste, so if you want something a bit different from the usual cream gnocchi, I'd recommend this one!

Verdict after another visit to Sedici

Overall the food is consistently good, and the balance of accessibility and atmosphere is solid, so this is the place that comes to mind again whenever I want pasta in Seongsu. The prices aren't overly steep for an Italian restaurant in Seongsu, and the menu spans starters, gnocchi, and pasta, so it's great for two people to share a variety of dishes.

It has a casual yet understated vibe that's easy to talk over, so it's the kind of place that gets compliments whenever I bring friends here ( ˘ ³˘) 💕

Getting to Sedici from Seongsu Station, and where to park

Sedici is about a 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 2. It's on the 1st floor of the Seongsu-dong Arc Valley building, so it's close to the station and not hard to find at all!

Best of all, being able to use the building's underground parking — rare for Seongsu — made it convenient to visit by car. *Free parking for up to 1 hour on weekdays, 2 hours on weekends.

How to book a table at Sedici

Sedici takes reservations through Catch Table and Naver Reservation. Booking ahead is recommended if you want a specific time or table. Steak dishes take over 40 minutes to prepare, so reserving in advance is a good idea — and since your preferred steak option might not be available otherwise, a reservation is essential!
