Inside Kkot Gatsu: the room, the self-serve bar and a toddler chair
The interior of Kkot Gatsu Dongtan is warm wood tones with soft lighting, making it a nice atmosphere for a family meal or a date. There's a toddler chair and a self-serve bar on one side, so you can comfortably add extras as needed.
🌿 Warm, clean interior — The first thing you notice walking in is the warm wood-tone atmosphere! Clean but not too stiff, making it comfortable to eat in. The lighting is soft too, and overall it felt cozy enough for a family meal or a date 😊 A place I liked from the moment I walked in 🤎 There's a toddler chair and self-serve bar on one side, so we could comfortably add whatever we needed.

Also fine to visit with kids!!👶 Kkot Gatsu has toddler chairs ready and is comfortable to eat at with a child, and when dining out as a family, taste matters but these small details matter too — the seats are also spaced generously, which is nice ♡

Kkot Gatsu has tenderloin, loin, cheese cutlet, chicken, and fish cutlet, plus set menus you can pair with udon or cold soba. The hardest part is deciding what to order 😂

I love donkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) that's juicy inside and crispy outside, and Kkot Gatsu nailed it 😋 🌸

What is the chi-kkot katsu (16,000 won), the cheese and tenderloin combo, like?
Chi-kkot katsu at ₩16,000 is a combo letting you enjoy both cheese cutlet and tenderloin. The cheese cutlet was fried crispy and packed thick with cheese, while the tenderloin was soft and juicy.
🌸 The chi-kkot katsu (₩16,000) finally arrived. It looked delicious from the moment it landed 😍 The cheese cutlet was fried crispy, packed thick with cheese, and the tenderloin meat was soft and juicy enough that even people who dislike dry pork cutlet would probably love it!! Juicy from the first bite 🤎

Cheese practically dripping off — see for yourself 🧀 The cheese cutlet is a popular item too, so cheese lovers will really enjoy it 💛 It's a daily limited item, so order it if it's available 🤗 It's the style where the cheese is packed inside the cutlet, so it's also a good pick when visiting with kids!🧀💕

The loin cutlet set (18,500 won) with su-udon
The loin cutlet set is ₩18,500 and comes with a loin cutlet plus a half portion of udon. You can choose between hwa-udon (spicy) and su-udon (mild) — I ordered su-udon.
This time it was the loin cutlet set (₩18,500). Loin cutlet + half portion udon, and you get to choose the udon flavor 🥣 Between hwa-udon (spicy) and su-udon (mild), I went with su-udon ♡ The udon had deep flavor and chewy noodles — tasty!

Tenderloin cutlet vs loin cutlet: what is the difference?
🤍 Curious about the loin cutlet too! Eating the tenderloin made me curious about the loin too 👀 If tenderloin is soft and juicy, loin has a slightly more savory, nutty flavor. The two differ in texture and flavor, so if you're visiting with a group, it's worth ordering both and sharing. Team tenderloin? Team loin? Both, for me 😂❣️

Donkatsu is really all about the combo of crispy breading and tender meat, and I liked that the breading wasn't too thick, staying crispy! It's tasty dipped in sauce alone, and with lemon salt or wasabi added, you get a whole different flavor! There was fun in mixing and matching to your taste 😁

Self-serve bar at Kkot Gatsu: dried radish strips, pickled chilies and sides
At Kkot Gatsu's self-serve bar you can add extra sauces and side dishes, and the dried radish and pickled pepper combo was the best. The salad and pickles that come standard also cut through the richness.
🥗 The sides were solid too — eating just donkatsu can get a bit rich, but having salad and pickles alongside helped clean the palate between bites! I used extra sauces and sides from the self-serve bar as needed, and the dried radish and pickled peppers were a delicious combo 🌶 A bite of cutlet, a bite of sides ♡ Usually it's just kimchi, so dried radish was a first for me, but the texture went so well 👍 The spicy kick cleans your palate and works magic making you keep eating cutlet endlessly 🪄

Is Kkot Gatsu worth it for pork cutlets in Dongtan?
Kkot Gatsu ages its pork for 10 days, so the meat was juicy with deep, rich flavor. With their house-made pickles and lemon salt, it balances things out nicely when things start feeling a bit rich 😋👍
🌸 If you're looking for a pork cutlet restaurant in Dongtan, I highly recommend Kkot Gatsu Dongtan 😍 That said, as a famous no-wait-that-isn't restaurant in Dongtan, it can get busy on weekends or during meal times, so it's better to visit with a bit of buffer time.

In particular, the tenderloin cutlet and cheese cutlet at Kkot Gatsu stuck with me 🥹 Even though the meat was thick, it was tender and the breading was crispy, so satisfying 🤎 With the warm atmosphere and a calm video playing on one wall, it felt comfortable ☺️ I thought it'd work well as a family dining spot too! 😊 On a day you're craving donkatsu in Dongtan, a day you want to eat out with your kid, or a day you want a tasty cutlet on a date, Kkot Gatsu is worth a visit 🌸 Next time I want to bring the baby along and try it together 😋 Found Kkot Gatsu while searching for a good pork cutlet restaurant in Dongtan, and really enjoyed the meal 💕
