Fresh sushi takeout in Namdong, Incheon: Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang

This is my visit review of Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang Moraenae Market Branch, a takeout-only shop ranked among the top sushi spots in Guwol-dong. They say they maintain freshness by making and selling everything the same day, and because there is no dine-in hall, they cut labor and rent costs to offer customers fresher, more affordable sashimi and sushi.

A sushi display restocked quickly, even at lunch

I knew it was a popular Moraenae Market spot, but wow, there were so many customers and the items disappeared fast. Still, the sushi was quickly replenished too. I guess this rapid turnover is the secret to better freshness, flavor, and satisfaction.

It was lunchtime when I went, and a lot of the display had just sold out ㅠ Luckily, the sashimi sushi I wanted was there, so I bought it right away. I did want to look over every menu item, though. Oh well... it is a popular Moraenae Market spot, so things go quickly.

But just as I was about to leave, it was restocked again. If the sushi you want is not there, try asking. They were working hard in the kitchen.

Since it is a takeout-only shop, I brought home flounder, salmon, and special sushi.

Wow... this is an unedited, straight-from-the-camera photo, but look at that color. This is seriously the high-end version of sushi color...

Flounder, salmon, and special sushi

The sushi basically comes with wasabi already in it. The flounder and salmon sushi are ₩10,000 each. The fish is thick and pleasantly chewy, and the price is very good.

I brought home the special sushi, which includes raw shrimp and tuna. The soft, melt-in-your-mouth tuna and salmon, plus the chewy, flavorful shrimp and flounder, are simply delicious.

Along with special assorted sushi, special sushi, and omakase sushi, they also have sashimi options such as single-serving sashimi, salmon sashimi, flounder sashimi, and assorted sashimi. Special sushi is ₩15,000, while omakase sushi is ₩18,000 because of the ingredients, but you can enjoy a wider range of more premium fish as sushi. That salmon roe gunkan looks delicious... *gulp*

There are also fresh-fish sushi options such as garlic salmon sushi, fresh salmon sushi, aged-kimchi flounder sushi, large flounder sushi, and engawa sushi. They are around ₩10,000, so they do not feel burdensome.

There are also sushi options with that sweet-and-salty seasoned flavor, including fresh salmon rolls, garlic shrimp sushi, soy-marinated shrimp sushi, and freshwater eel sushi. These are ₩9,000 ^&^

How are sashimi and sushi packed, and what about parking?

Do not worry about whether sushi or sashimi takeout will be okay in hot weather~ They pack it cool in an insulated bag with an ice pack.

Enter Moraenae Market (Guwol Market) from Moraenae Market Public Parking Lot and you will find a jokbal (braised pig's trotters) restaurant at the intersection. Turn left around the jokbal restaurant, then turn right at the end of the road. Yes~ you have arrived.^^

Moraenae Market Public Parking Lot costs ₩1,000 for the first 30 minutes. I do not think there is a free grace period... I parked for only 12 minutes and it was still ₩1,000.^^ It is easy to find, and above all, the crowd of customers out front makes it very noticeable.

Minyeong Hwareo Gongjang also packs mulhoe (chilled raw-fish soup), not just sashimi and sushi, so plenty of people who love refreshing mulhoe (= me) come by too.
