Korean lunch set with cockles in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung: Jeongjeong-a
In short
Jeongjeong-a Sikdang Jeongwang Branch is a long-running Korean restaurant on Seochonsangga4-gil in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung, on the first floor of the On Motel building next to Sikjaewang Mart Sihwa branch. Set menu 5 (cockles, seafood pancake, acorn jelly) plus boiled squid was ordered as a light lunch, but the portions were so generous it turned into a stuffed-to-bursting meal. The cockles, shipped in daily from Yeoja Bay, and the squid-packed seafood pancake were the highlights, and all parking is free.

I went in for a light lunch at this Siheung Jeongwang-dong spot, but I walked out so full I could barely breathe haha. Here's my review of Jeongjeong-a Sikdang in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung~
Jeongjeong-a Sikdang Jeongwang Branch: hours, closing day and parking

💡 Parking is totally free!! Both the underground/ground lots in the building and the public lot right in front next to Hwasin Officetel are free! It's 5 minutes by car from Jeongwang Station~
How to find Jeongjeong-a Sikdang on Seochonsangga4-gil in Jeongwang-dong

Jeongjeong-a Sikdang, a well-known spot in Siheung's Jeongwang-dong, sits on Seochonsangga4-gil! It's right next to Sikjaewang Mart Sihwa branch, so it's a familiar location for locals in Jeongwang-dong and workers at Sihwa Industrial Complex~

It's on the first floor of the On Motel building, so if you search 'Jeongjeong-a Sikdang Jeongwang Branch' or 'On Motel' in your navigation, you'll find it easily! Even from the outside, it looks like a spacious, sizable restaurant!
Inside Jeongjeong-a Sikdang: room for groups

The moment I walked in, I was surprised — it's much bigger inside than it looks from outside! For a local Jeongwang-dong spot, it's roomy enough that group visitors can dine comfortably. Every table is neatly set, and while it has that old-school lived-in feel, it seemed well-kept, so I had a pleasant meal!

Almost every other table around us was ordering dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken stew) haha. But we came for a light lunch, so we ordered something other than dakdoritang!

How much food comes with set menu 5 and boiled squid?

Since we'd eaten breakfast late, we wanted a light lunch, so we ordered set menu 5 (cockles + seafood pancake + acorn jelly) plus boiled squid — but it turned out to be anything but light haha. The portions were way bigger than expected, and we left stuffed!
Cockles shipped in daily from Yeoja Bay

The moment the cockles arrived, they looked so appetizing! They're said to be shipped daily direct from Yeoja Bay, and the freshness was clearly different~

The moment I took a bite, the sweet, chewy texture was alive — every chew burst with that distinct cockle umami!
I realized 'direct from the source' wasn't just marketing talk! It wasn't until I tasted it that I understood how different truly fresh cockles are ㅠㅠ
The seasoning on the cockles wasn't too salty either — sweet and clean, the kind of flavor that keeps you reaching for more!
Seafood pancake really loaded with squid

The moment the seafood pancake arrived, I was shocked by how much squid was in it!! Usually when you order seafood pancake, you end up disappointed by how little seafood there is~

But here, the pancake was packed with thick chunks of squid plus clams, so every bite exploded with seafood umami 😋
The batter was fried up nice and crispy too — crispy outside, moist inside, exactly right! The umami coming off the squid and clams was truly great!
Acorn jelly (dotorimuk)
The acorn jelly was tossed with vegetables and seaweed in a balanced way, and the seasoning was sweet rather than salty, pairing well with the jelly's nutty flavor!

Eating it between bites of cockles and seafood pancake really cleanses the palate — the balance of this combo is spot on!
Boiled squid

The boiled squid came out and honestly, the softness was unexpected!
Squid is often chewy, but this boiled squid wasn't tough at all — it chewed soft and, dipped in chojang (vinegar chili sauce), it was genuinely delicious!

I guess that's the difference fresh ingredients make? The combo with chojang was such a perfect match that this plate disappeared before I knew it haha.
