Suwon restaurant for jambon truffle pizza and lasagna: The European
In short
The European Haenggung Main Branch is a wood-fired pizza and pasta Italian restaurant on Haengridan-gil in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. On a Haenggung-dong date, the jambon truffle funghi pizza (31,000 won), topped with a poached egg you pop over the crust, and the Bolognese lasagna (23,000 won) layered with cheese both delivered. - 💡 One-line intro: A great-vibe Haenggung-dong restaurant to enjoy wood-fired pizza and pasta together 🍕🍝
I go to Haenggung-dong often, and there are so many cafés and good restaurants there haha. I'm usually a Korean-food person, but this time I wanted wood-fired pizza and pasta instead, so I looked up Western food spots on Haengridan-gil and found this one 🍕🍝 With pizza, pasta, gnocchi, and lasagna all on the menu, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a good date restaurant or a nice-atmosphere spot in Haenggung-dong, Suwon 🤍
The European's exterior on the Haengridan-gil alley

Walking down the Haenggung-dong alley, The European Haenggung Main Branch catches your eye — the exterior fits so well with the distinctive vibe of Haengridan-gil that people passing by all glance over at least once !!! A lot of people search for Haenggung-dong date courses or Suwon date courses these days, and this spot is in a great location to follow with a walk or café visit around Haenggung-dong :) Especially recommended if you're looking for a proper Haengridan-gil restaurant rather than just another café in the area!
Inside The European Haenggung Main Branch: chandelier lighting in Haenggung-dong

The inside was comfortable but totally date-appropriate haha. Not too casual, but not stiffly formal either, so it has that good Haenggung-dong date-restaurant feel for couples 🤍

A fancy chandelier in a wood-fired pizza place, of all things ,, ☺️ It seemed like a good spot for brunch with friends or a meal with family too, and if you love pasta or wood-fired pizza, there's plenty to choose from. It's also very photogenic, so I'd recommend it to anyone hunting for a good-vibe restaurant in Haenggung-dong 📸
Jambon truffle funghi pizza, 31,000 won: popping the poached egg
The dish that stood out most at The European was definitely the wood-fired pizza — basil burrata cheese pizza, jambon truffle funghi pizza, margherita, and more, so it's easy to pick one that suits your taste !! 😋 I ordered the jambon truffle funghi pizza (₩31,000).

The chewy dough characteristic of a wood-fired oven, paired with the cheese and toppings, was such a satisfying combo 🤤
Popping the poached egg over it doubled the richness ~ the savory jambon, mushrooms, and truffle aroma come together so well it'd pair nicely with wine or a drink too.
Highly recommended if you like savory, flavorful pizza 🫶
Bolognese lasagna, 23,000 won: rich meat sauce and layered cheese

Beyond pizza and pasta, there's also gnocchi and lasagna, so the menu is way more varied than your typical pizza place. I ordered the Bolognese lasagna (₩23,000), which had great reviews!
It's an Italian baked dish with layers of rich meat sauce and cheese — a total must-try for anyone who loves tomato and cheese.
With rich meat and cheese flavor at its core, it's a bit heavier than pasta, so worth trying if you like something more substantial >.< A combo of wood-fired pizza and lasagna ,, 🥹 If you're visiting Haenggung-dong, Suwon, give it a try!
Is The European a good stop on a Haenggung-dong date course?

Haenggung-dong is great for eating, going to a café, and walking around Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, so personally it's a really solid date course !! The European especially has a great atmosphere and menu for dates, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a Haenggung-dong or Suwon date restaurant ~ Eat at The European → Haenggung-dong café → tour Suwon Hwaseong, and that's a perfect one-day date course 💕
From wood-fired pizza to pasta, gnocchi, and lasagna, I got to enjoy a lot at The European Haenggung Main Branch 🍕🍝 I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a nice-atmosphere Western restaurant in Haenggung-dong or wanting to eat pizza and pasta together. A place I'd want to revisit whenever I want good Western food on a Haenggung-dong date!
