Suwon pizza restaurant, revisited for corn pizza and pescatore: Low

In short

Low Five is an Italian restaurant in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, Gyeonggi, good for sharing pizza and pasta together. After the corn pizza from a first visit kept crossing the writer's mind, they returned to order the corn pizza for ₩25,000 and the Hot Pot Pescatore pasta for ₩21,000, and the sweet pizza paired well with the spicy tomato pasta. If you're after a pizza that's a little different, the corn pizza at Low Five is worth trying.

Haenggung-dong has so many pretty cafés and good restaurants that there's always fun in exploring new spots, but when a dish keeps popping into your head after just one taste, you end up going back for it. I remembered the corn pizza I had on my last visit being so good that I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I went back to Low Five, well known as a Haenggung-dong pizza spot in Suwon!

Location and parking at Low Five

Low Five, a pizza restaurant in Haenggung-dong, is a great spot to stop by on a date around the neighborhood. Haenggung-dong itself is a bit far from the subway, so I'd recommend taking a bus or driving :) Since Low Five is housed in a converted residential building, there's no on-site parking, but there are plenty of nearby lots, so it worked out fine. I parked at Seongyeong Library, right near the restaurant.

The interior and atmosphere

Low Five has a casual yet atmospheric space that's nice for meals with friends or a date. The vibe fits well with the character of Haenggung-dong, making it a great place to wander around the area and then settle in for a relaxed meal. Ordering pizza and pasta together to share also makes it a good date spot!

It was convenient that you could grab as much hot sauce or extra tableware as you needed while eating pizza.

The menu — what to order for two

Pasta and pizza are the main menu items, but the kimchi fried rice I tried on my last visit was also delicious. You might wonder, kimchi fried rice at an Italian restaurant? But if you're visiting with a group, I'd recommend trying it once! Generally, ordering one pizza and one pasta lets you enjoy two different flavors, which seems like a good combination for two people.

On this visit too, the dish I was looking forward to most was, without question, the corn pizza. Generously topped with corn and melted cheese, it looked delicious from the first glance.

The sweet flavor of the corn paired so well with the salty pizza that I kept reaching for another piece. The corn wasn't just a topping thrown on top — it felt like it really anchored the flavor of the whole pizza, giving it a charm different from ordinary pizza! I think the fact that I came back specifically for this dish says all it needs to about the taste :)

When you lift up a slice, the cheese stretches into long strands, which also makes for a great photo moment. A dish I loved the first time kept crossing my mind even after time passed, so I ordered it again, and it was just as delicious this time. If you're a pizza lover who prefers something a bit different from the usual pepperoni or meat-topped pizzas, you have to try this one! Personally, if I had to pick just one pizza at Low Five, I'd choose the corn pizza without hesitation.

Hot Pot Pescatore pasta, ₩21,000

With plenty of red tomato-based sauce, this dish offered a completely different experience from the pizza. In particular, I ordered the Hot Pot Pescatore pasta because it's spicy, giving it a flavor that contrasts with the sweet pizza! Arugula-like greens sat on top of the pasta, with seafood and noodles mixed in underneath, making it look quite hearty.

The distinct tomato sauce flavor, the added spiciness, and the seafood made it great to eat alternately with the pizza. If the pizza is centered on the sweet, savory flavor of corn and cheese, the Hot Pot Pescatore pasta leans more into tomato and spice, and I thought it was a good call to order two different dishes. If eating pizza alone feels a bit heavy, pairing it with something like this could be a great option!

Why the return visit was worth it

Honestly, revisiting a favorite restaurant can sometimes be disappointing since expectations from the first visit run high, but the corn pizza at Low Five was just as good the second time. If you want to eat pizza and pasta in a nice atmosphere while out on a date in Haenggung-dong, or if you're looking for a slightly different kind of pizza, I recommend Low Five, a pizza restaurant in Haenggung-dong!
