I wanted a good handmade burger in Seongsu, so I went to Bas Burger Seongsu! Seongsu has so many great restaurants and cafés that it's always hard to decide where to go. Especially after walking around Seoul Forest or wandering through Seongsu, sometimes you just crave something hearty and filling, right? That's when Bas Burger Seongsu is a great option. It's an easy walk from Ttukseom Station too, so the access is good, and it fits nicely into a day plan that also includes Seoul Forest and Seongsu's hot spots! Best of all, the vibe is great for pairing a burger with a beer, so it works whether you're there for a meal or just a casual drink.

Is Bas Burger Seongsu good for solo dining or a date? Pets on the terrace only

Bas Burger has an overall relaxed, casual vibe, so it's great to visit with friends or for a date meal with a partner. It's also not intimidating to visit alone for a single burger, so it would suit anyone looking for a solo dining spot in Seongsu. On nice-weather days you can apparently also use the terrace. If you're visiting with a pet, keep in mind it's only allowed on the outdoor terrace!

The order: THE Bas Burger set plus a Double Bacon Cheese Burger

Since I wanted to properly dig in that day, I ordered THE Bas Burger set plus a Double Bacon Cheese Burger single. For the set, I swapped the standard fries side for a chili cheese bar, and swapped the set drink from cola to beer. A cold beer just goes so well with a burger, right? So this time I went all in on the burger-and-beer combo.

How does the THE Bas Burger taste? The patty keeps its beefy flavor

First, the main order, THE Bas Burger! True to a handmade burger, the patty and ingredients were piled on generously, and it looked hearty at first glance. The filling was so substantial that it was almost a bit much to fit in one bite, which made it fun to eat too. As the juicy patty mingled with the burger's various ingredients, every bite felt rich and full-flavored. In particular, you could really taste the meat in the patty, which made it clear this was a different experience from your typical franchise burger — the appeal of a true handmade burger. Pairing it with a cold beer made the combination even better. A bite of burger and a sip of beer cut through the richness and kept me reaching for more.

Double Bacon Cheese Burger, the one to eat with beer

And one more order, the Double Bacon Cheese Burger! Even the name sounds delicious. With bacon and cheese added to the patty, you could really taste the savory, rich flavor. In particular, the salty bacon and savory cheese blended really well with the patty — personally I thought it paired especially well with beer. The burger itself has a rich, heavy flavor, so even one would be quite filling. If you're visiting with a group, it might be nice to order different burgers and share them.

For the side, I wanted to try something a bit different, so I chose the chili cheese bar. Regular fries are good too, but since I was pairing the meal with beer that day, I picked something with a bit more of a kick. With chili and cheese added, it had a savory yet salty flavor that went well with the burger. It was especially good as a beer snack — great for picking at little by little between bites of burger.

That cheese pull is no joke, right?! The combination with the spicy chili is really good.

And here's a detail I personally really liked! Being able to choose beer as the set drink was great, and once you've finished the beer, they'll refill it with a soft drink. That's a nice point for anyone who wants a beer with their burger but also wants a soft drink alongside. I enjoyed the burger and beer, then got to finish things off with a refill — really satisfying.
