Today I'm introducing a local Busan favorite — a Dongnae-gu restaurant, an eel buffet in Anrak-dong that's perfect for a Dongnae-gu work dinner. Here's my review of restoring my energy at Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel, Busan Dongnae Branch.

Where is Songnim Bok Jangeo Busan Dongnae Branch, and when is it open?
Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel, Busan Dongnae Branch is located at 146 Myeongjang-ro, 1st floor, Dongnae-gu, Busan, South Korea. It's open daily from 11:50 to 23:00, with last order at 22:10.
It's 700m from Wondong Station Exit 1, and I'd recommend using a nearby public parking lot or paid parking.
The interior was spacious and clean, and the sofa-style chairs with backrests made it comfortable to sit for a while — the table setup was great for family meals or group dinners.

How much is the eel buffet, and how do you order?
The buffet is ₩29,900 for adults and ₩14,000 for children (elementary school age). There are also meal items and a variety of drinks. No need to order — they set the table according to your headcount.

There's a helpful guide on how to grill eel well, and apparently distilled liquor pairs really nicely with eel. If you're drinking, they say distilled spirits help digest the eel's oily richness.

What's on the self-bar: greens, sauces and sides you grab yourself
There's a self-bar in the middle of the restaurant, so you can grab things easily from any seat. Once the side dishes run out, you just refill them yourself — sauces and lettuce for wraps aren't brought to the table, so grab those yourself too.
The self-bar was kept completely clean and hygienic.
The side dishes are white kimchi, green onion kimchi, perilla leaf pickles, pickled onion, and ginger.
I grabbed my own lettuce and ssamjang (dipping sauce) for wraps.
The first plate, the charcoal grill and the free bokbunja wine
First, the water — not bottled, but a nutty barley tea that felt like a good sign from the start.
The first plate arrived! Fresh freshwater eel along with thick-cut pork belly and chicken neck meat.
And then the charcoal came out^^ The charcoal looked in really good condition.

Complimentary bokbunja wine also arrived. The buffet price is already reasonable, and they throw in free bokbunja wine on top — such a great deal 😍

All three meats went onto the grill together nicely. Somehow, even before eating, I already felt full of energy haha
Maybe because the charcoal was so good, everything grilled up beautifully golden brown.
Staff trim the eel's fins and fine bones for you at the table
The hood did a great job sucking up the smoke. While I was watching everything cook, a staff member came over.
She trimmed the fins and the fine bones on the eel, explaining that grilling it this way prevents small bones from getting stuck in your throat. Extremely kind. She even swapped out the grill plate without being asked — the staff were truly on point 👍
How were the chicken neck and pork belly at Songnim Bok Jangeo?
Chicken neck meat — one of my favorites 🤩

It was so tender and delicious, it just melts in your mouth. It's already seasoned, so it's tasty even on its own.
The pork belly looked great too — not too thick, not too thin, the perfect thickness for grilling yourself without any hassle.

It's great wrapped in lettuce with green onion kimchi, and equally clean and tasty with grilled white kimchi.
Grilled eel with green onion kimchi: the best bite of the night
The star of the show — grilled eel! Thick and nutty, the flavor spreads through your whole mouth. The red sauce has a slight kick of spice with tons of savory depth. Ginger is a must with grilled eel!!

Eaten with the perilla leaf pickles, the sweet-and-tangy pickle pairs amazingly with the grilled eel — you never get tired of it and can just keep eating endlessly. But the green onion kimchi, with its refreshingly cool flavor, is the real magic — it goes well with both the pork belly and the eel. Today's kick is definitely the green onion kimchi.

They put more big chunks of freshwater eel on the grill. This Dongnae-gu favorite, Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel, is a buffet, but the eel quality is genuinely excellent.

Golden-brown, deliciously grilled eel — this Anrak-dong eel buffet spot is so good. My mom and I happily sipped on the bokbunja wine and enjoyed the nutty, delicious grilled eel.

See how thick that is? For me, the red sauce was tastier than the plain, non-spicy eel sauce.

Refill after refill: the last wrap before we were completely full
Haha, we really made the most of the all-you-can-eat, didn't we?😆 Honestly, if it hadn't been good, I would've stopped after one plate — but it was so delicious I kept getting more^^

Can't miss the pork belly and chicken neck meat either. It really does seem like a great spot for a Dongnae-gu work dinner. Great value and delicious too — I'd call Songnim Bok a certified must-try freshwater eel spot in Busan.

Thick, golden-brown grilled eel with no fishy smell at all — you end up eating endlessly.
A bite of wrap with red sauce and ginger on top, then another with pickled onion, ginger, garlic, and a dab of ssamjang.

A Busan spot where you can pile your plate high — that's Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel.
Tender and nutty, delicious even eaten plain.

Eel placed on pickled onion with ginger on top — so clean and satisfying! For the last wrap, I piled lettuce with perilla leaf pickles, white kimchi, and ginger haha. Truly stuffed myself.

Verdict: is Songnim Bok Jangeo worth it for a Dongnae group or family dinner?
This local Busan favorite, a Dongnae-gu eel buffet, was great for restoring energy and honestly so delicious that I ate until I was completely full at Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel. Great value, and the well-organized self-bar made everything comfortable and enjoyable. The place is spacious and clean, and the staff are kind, so I'd recommend it for family meals or a Dongnae-gu work dinner.
