Sunday morning truffle mushroom pasta in Guwol-dong, Incheon: Withwich

Last weekend, I visited Withwich, famous as a pasta spot in Guwol-dong, together with my husband. I'd been there before with my parents and it was so good that it kept bothering me that my husband hadn't gotten to try it too. This time we went for lunch as a bit of a date.

Where Withwich is and how to get there

Withwich, the Guwol-dong pasta spot, is a brunch café! It's located in the Asiad Athletes' Village area of Guwol-dong. There's no subway station nearby, so if you're using public transit, a bus is probably your easiest option.

True to a brunch spot, they mainly sell pasta, pizza, salad, and sandwiches. Even just looking at the sign next door gives you a bit of an Italy feeling haha

Oh — turns out Withwich, this pasta spot in Guwol-dong, Incheon, has been selected by the Blue Ribbon Survey a total of four times. That's not necessarily a measure of taste, but knowing it's been selected somehow makes me trust it more haha

What Withwich looks like at 10:40am on a Sunday

We visited on a Sunday, arriving around 10:40am. And guess what — there were already a lot of customers there. I guess since Withwich opens early in the morning, a lot of people come to enjoy brunch.

Looking at the walls, there were a lot of autographed papers stuck up! I have no idea just how famous this place is.

Since it's a brunch café that opens early, there were a lot of people bringing their kids too — they have high chairs set up separately, so you can bring kids without it feeling like a hassle!

After ordering, you can grab any utensils or pickles you need from next to the counter. The pickles kind of felt homemade haha

The parking lot is in the basement of the building, and it actually goes down to B5. Park with ease, and make sure to get the parking support! We got 1.5 hours of parking.

First off, the menu is really varied. There are several kinds of sandwiches, plus pizzas and pastas. And there's a wide range of salads too, so it was seriously hard to decide... I guess ordering a set is the rational choice, right??

You order at the kiosk next to the counter! It looked like regulars earn points too, which made me want to become a regular myself haha

The three dishes we ordered at Withwich

What we ordered was the bulgogi bacon cheese pizza, the spicy chicken breast sandwich, and the truffle mushroom pasta!

Truffle mushroom pasta

First up, the truffle mushroom pasta! It's an oil pasta full of truffle aroma, and since I remembered enjoying it so much with my parents last time, I ordered it again.

It's not greasy at all, and there's just a slight, very slight spicy note, so even people who don't like oil pasta could enjoy this plenty.

Plus it's packed with all kinds of mushrooms, so you get a healthy feeling at the same time!

The sauce was so good that I ended up scraping the plate clean with my spoon haha

Bulgogi bacon cheese pizza, cut into six slices

Next up, the bulgogi pizza!!! I almost didn't order it because I thought it'd be too much food, but my husband really wanted to try it, so we got it — and no regrets at all. If anything, I ended up thinking 'what if we hadn't ordered this!!' while eating it haha

The dough is thin and piled high with cheese and toppings, so it doesn't feel heavy to eat.

Interestingly, at Withwich they cut the pizza into six slices? Thanks to that, we got to eat big, filling pieces haha

Spicy chicken breast sandwich

Last is the spicy chicken breast sandwich my husband really wanted to try. Withwich's sandwiches are seriously huge!!

The sandwich is so big that ordering just one is plenty to split between two people!
