Siheung Premium Outlets noodle restaurant, one bowl for two: Pyeongi

In short

Pyeongi Dambaek Bone Kalguksu Siheung Premium Outlets is a bone kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup with bone-in meat) specialist in Taste Village on the first floor of Siheung Premium Outlets in Siheung, Gyeonggi. One single order of bone kalguksu (13,000 won) shared by the writer and her mother came with two large chunks of grilled bone meat, one each, and a broth that was clean like gomtang rather than heavy. The clear, mild soup was easy even for someone who cannot handle spice, making Pyeongi Dambaek a solid meal stop while shopping at Siheung Premium Outlets.

I came to Siheung Premium Outlets to hang out and got hungry, so I headed to Taste Village — I'd already been curious about this bone kalguksu place, so I went for it.

Choosing a menu, plus the dumpling and suyuk promotion

Besides bone kalguksu there's also bone soup rice, bibim style, and a new perilla oil menu, so I went back and forth on what to order... but ended up sticking with bone kalguksu. Next time I want to try the spicy version.

Oh wow, right now there's a customer appreciation event: free dumplings with a ₩30,000+ purchase, and free suyuk (boiled pork) if you spend over ₩40,000. If even 3 people go together you'd easily hit ₩40,000, so go with 2-3 people and enjoy the dumplings or suyuk 😋

How much food comes with one bone kalguksu order (13,000 won)?

I ordered the single bone kalguksu and the portion was insane. Even as a single serving, the bowl was huge — and the grilled bone meat pieces were especially plump and enormous.

The meat is so big the broth looks like it's about to overflow.

I love kalguksu and eat it a lot normally, but this was the first time I'd had noodles with grilled bone meat in it — and the broth was insane.

What does the bone kalguksu broth taste like?

Kalguksu broth is usually kind of heavy and rich, right? But Pyeongi Dambaek's bone kalguksu is different. It felt more like eating gomtang (bone broth soup) — really clean!

Bone kalguksu broth as clean as gomtang

My dad would seriously love this place (he's a total kalguksu fanatic). Kalguksu plus grilled bone meat — that's two birds with one stone.

Look at the size... insane...(p)

Two chunks of grilled bone meat, one for each of us

There were two chunks this big, so mom and I got along nicely and each ate one. There was also a lot of tender meat attached to the bone!

The noodles were nice and chewy too. Who knew a kalguksu place this good existed in Siheung...? I've got to come back.

Tender grilled bone meat with meat still attached

The meat was so tender it came apart smoothly just with my tongue. Perfect for picking clean without getting your hands dirty.

Once I moved the bones to a separate bowl it really looked like two servings. I only ordered one dish, but it felt like eating two dishes at once.

Is the bone kalguksu mild enough if you can't take spice?

Since it was my first time, I went with the signature bone kalguksu, the mild version. It's great for spice wimps like me, and I think mom would've liked the spicy version too.

Honestly, my stomach wasn't feeling great when I ate this, but the broth totally soothed it. This would be great for hangover recovery too.

Seating and how to order in Taste Village

Oh, by the way, at Cynthia's Taste Village you can order from other restaurants together and even sit at the outdoor tables, which was super convenient.

They also gave a generous amount of broth so some was left over. Ah, if I'd mixed rice into it, it would've been just like Naju gomtang's amazing broth... drooling just thinking about it... I ate this yesterday and already want it again.

Cynthia's Pyeongi Dambaek Bone Kalguksu was great, but I have a slight regret(?)... I regret not getting the suyuk, the gabrisal (pork skirt) suyuk. So that means next time I have to go back and eat it 😝

Yomaeddae ice cream for dessert

Nice touch — after finishing our meal, they gave us Yomaeddae ice cream as part of the event to cleanse the palate. It was even yogurt-flavored ice, which was so good. Yogurt for dessert really does feel refreshing 😋

I'd recommend Pyeongi Dambaek Bone Kalguksu Siheung Premium Outlets if you're at Cynthia's Taste Village looking for a good place to eat. Personally, mom and I both really enjoyed it.
