I was over at Exit 6 of Konkuk University Station today when an ice cream shop caught my eye out of nowhere. The colorful interior and a huge photo of a kid happily eating ice cream made it hard to just walk past. That's how I ended up at Beurre Beurre Konkuk University Rodeo Branch.

The name felt a little unfamiliar at first, but once I actually tried it, it felt pretty different from your usual ice cream. There's a lot of fun in picking from the different flavors, and I really liked the softness and richness on the palate — so today I'm introducing it as a Konkuk dessert spot worth knowing.

Beurre Beurre's unique name — what's the vibe inside?
Walking into Beurre Beurre, the first thing that grabbed me was the store atmosphere. Big ice cream photos, cute characters, and vivid colors all came together, and it matched the young, lively energy of Konkuk really well.

The photos come out looking really pretty with all that color. But this isn't just a pretty-looking ice cream shop. Beurre Beurre is a brand built around premium butter ice cream made with French butter that's 82% milk fat, apparently — and that's the biggest thing the official website highlights about the brand.

Tasted it — smooth and mellow, not too sweet
Ice cream that's too sweet can be great for the first few bites but gets old fast, right? The Beurre Beurre ice cream I tried had plenty of flavor but wasn't as heavy as I expected. It melted smoothly on the tongue with a nutty note coming through, and above all, choosing between the different flavors was just fun.

I especially liked the fruit-based flavors. Getting to enjoy tropical fruit flavors like durian and mango — things you don't run into as ice cream that often — felt like a fun change of pace. The distinct tropical fruit character came through, and being cold and smooth made it easy to enjoy without feeling too heavy.

The colors are pretty too, so you get to enjoy it with your eyes first, then again with your mouth! If you love ice cream, it's worth grabbing a few different flavors to share and compare.
More fun if you like durian and mango
Sweet, fragrant fruits like mango are great, but durian is a fruit that really splits opinion because of its smell. As ice cream, though, it feels totally different. Add in the cold, creamy texture and you get to experience that distinct tropical fruit character in a new way.

Personally, I prefer ice cream where each ingredient's character comes through over ones that just hit you with strong sweetness. Rather than picking just one flavor, I'd recommend ordering different flavors with your group and comparing them bite by bite.

There's a cup bingsu menu too
When I visited, the cup bingsu (shaved ice) menu caught my attention too. The menu I saw listed I Love So Malcha Bingsu 6.5, Eomchindal Bingsu 6.5, and Joseon Bingsu 6.5. For anyone who finds a whole big bowl of bingsu too much, this lighter cup format seemed like a solid option.

After a meal in Konkuk, you always end up debating between coffee and dessert — and this seemed like a good spot to take a break with either ice cream or a cup bingsu.
Looking for dessert after a meal in Konkuk?
Konkuk has so many restaurants that finding a place to eat is never hard, but once you're done eating, the 'where should we go for dessert?' question comes up again. Beurre Beurre Konkuk University Rodeo Branch is a good answer to that. The store had a cheerful vibe, great for photos, and above all the ice cream's colors were pretty enough to enjoy just looking at.

I found the taste smooth and mellow, which was satisfying overall. It'd suit anyone who likes tropical fruits like mango, anyone wanting to try something different in ice cream, or anyone looking for a light dessert after a meal in Konkuk. Next time I'm in Konkuk, I want to try the other flavors I missed this time. If you've hunted down a great Konkuk restaurant for a meal, how about finishing with a scoop of Beurre Beurre ice cream?
