Double pork cutlet and jjolmyeon lunch for two in Cheonan: Jinsim
In short
Jinsim Wang Donkatsu Cheonan Buldang is a Korean-style pork cutlet restaurant in Buldang-dong, Cheonan. A married couple ordered the Jinsim Wang Double Donkatsu, Jinsim Wang Jjolmyeon, and a zero-sugar cola, alternating between the sweet Western-style cutlet sauce and the tangy-spicy noodles, with plenty of food for two. The pork cutlet and jjolmyeon combo turned out to be a satisfying pairing at Jinsim Wang Donkatsu.

There are days when you just suddenly crave pork cutlet.

I figured a crispy fried pork cutlet paired with tangy-spicy jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles) would make for a pretty filling meal, so this time my wife and I headed out to Buldang-dong for lunch.

The place we visited was Jinsim Wang Donkatsu Cheonan Buldang.

I've always been a fan of pork cutlet, so I went in with high expectations,

and maybe because "wang" (giant) is right there in the name, when the food actually arrived I was a bit surprised by how big it was, haha.

What we picked to share as a couple
This time I mulled over the menu for a while before picking dishes for my wife and me to share.

What we ordered was
- Jinsim Wang Double Donkatsu
- Jinsim Wang Jjolmyeon
- Zero Cola
that lineup.

I felt like pork cutlet alone might leave us wanting more, so we added the jjolmyeon, and for the drink we went simple with zero-sugar cola. But once the food arrived, the whole spread turned out to be quite generous for two people.

The Jinsim Wang Double Donkatsu: portion size and sauce
The first thing that caught my eye was of course the pork cutlet. It was piled up so big on the plate that I understood why "wang donkatsu" was in the name.

Since we specifically ordered the Jinsim Wang Double Donkatsu, the portion was clearly bigger than the regular cutlet. I cut it into bite-sized pieces and tried a bite — the outside was fried crispy while the meat inside was tender.

True to Korean-style Western cutlet, it came with a generous amount of sauce on top, which made it great to eat with rice. Rather than being overly strong or sharp, the sauce leaned sweet and familiar, in the classic style of Korean Western-style cutlet sauce, so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy.
And maybe because it was the double, the cutlet just kept coming no matter how much we ate, lol. At first I thought, "this alone might be plenty for the two of us," but once we added the jjolmyeon too, we were definitely full.

Pork cutlet and jjolmyeon really do go well together
Jjolmyeon is honestly my personal favorite thing to pair with pork cutlet.

When you keep eating fried food, it can start to feel a bit greasy after a while, and that's when a bite of tangy, spicy jjolmyeon completely resets your palate.

So this time too, we ordered the Jinsim Wang Jjolmyeon alongside it. The noodles had a nice chewy texture, and the sauce came through with a good balance of tangy and spicy flavors.

There were also vegetables mixed in, which gave more textural variety than just eating noodles alone.

Eating a piece of cutlet, then a bite of jjolmyeon, then going back to the cutlet again turned out to be a pretty great rhythm. My wife also said the cutlet was much better paired with the jjolmyeon than eaten on its own.

A sip of zero cola in between
For the drink, I didn't have to think twice — zero-sugar cola. When you're eating fried food like pork cutlet, having something carbonated really does clear your palate in between bites.

With the jjolmyeon added in too, we ended up rotating between the cutlet, the noodles, and the cola. It made for a pretty satisfying, easygoing lunch for two.

When you're craving pork cutlet in Buldang-dong
Visiting with my wife this time, the portions overall were generous, so it made for a hearty meal.

The Jinsim Wang Double Donkatsu in particular was a portion that anyone who loves pork cutlet would be satisfied with, and adding the wang jjolmyeon on top made it fun to switch back and forth between the two dishes. Personally, I'd recommend ordering the cutlet and jjolmyeon together rather than eating them separately.

If you're looking for a Buldang-dong pork cutlet restaurant with generous portions, this place is worth a visit. We're planning to come back the next time we're craving pork cutlet and try some other menu items too. Personally, I'd definitely recommend the Jinsim Wang Double Donkatsu plus Jinsim Wang Jjolmyeon combo we had this time. :)
