Yong Hanu Myeongji Branch is a 1++ grade hanwoo (Korean beef) BBQ restaurant in Myeongji International City, Gangseo, Busan. The hanwoo set (400g, serves 2) pairs sirloin with beef galbisal (rib meat), served with a seafood doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), and the portions were generous enough that even a light eater finished the galbisal with sirloin still left on the grill. The smooth cream curry and freshly fried, crispy sides made it a satisfying meal she'd repeat with the half-and-half curry again.
Haean Sutbul Galbi Gwangalli Main Branch is a charcoal-grilled pork rib restaurant just 3 minutes on foot from Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong, Busan. Visiting late at night for two, we ordered the pork rib 2-3 person set, Asahi draft beer, and seafood doenjang stew with added potato noodles, and the corkage service came fully equipped with glasses and ice. The aged raw ribs paired with barley shrimp salt were especially good, making this a Gwangalli BBQ spot worth revisiting.
Surabanjeom Gaya Branch is a Chinese restaurant near Dongui University Station in Busanjin, Busan. The 2-person set of shrimp ganjajang, sundubu jjamppong, and mini tangsuyuk delivered smoky wok flavor, a slow-aged jjamppong broth, and crisp-yet-chewy sweet rice tangsuyuk. Worth a visit if you're after solid Chinese food around Gaya-dong or Gaegeum-dong.
