Budae jjigae with 4-minute timer and free slushie in Seongsu: Songtan

Songtan Jindaegwang Budae Jjigae Seongsu Branch is a retro-style budae jjigae (army stew) restaurant on the second floor of a building one minute from Exit 1 of Seongsu Station in Seongdong, Seoul. Two people visited at 2pm on a weekday and ordered the Jindaegwang budae jjigae for two (26,000 won) with a ramen noodle add-on (2,000 won), cooked to a 4-minute timer and served with unlimited rice and side dishes, plus free coffee, yogurt and slushie afterwards. Songtan Jindaegwang is a filling, good-value lunch stop after a walk through the Seongsu-dong alleys.

Ulsanbawi stayed hidden behind clouds, yet the green scenery through the floor-to-ceiling windows and the sound of rain were charm enough — just come early if you want the full bakery selection.
