Lamb korma curry and tandoori chicken at a Seongnam Indian spot
In short
Bombay Broy Pangyo is an authentic Indian curry restaurant in Baekhyeon-dong, Seongnam, Gyeonggi. A regular who has visited 15 to 20 times ordered lamb korma curry, half a tandoori chicken, and garlic naan, and a staff member from India threw in an extra naan on the house. Between the spice-friendly curry and the tandoor-fired chicken, it made for a filling meal that carried through to dinner.

There's one place I keep coming back to with real affection. I've probably visited around 15 to 20 times by now, which tells you how much I like it. It's a solid pick for lunch in Pangyo, and it's the kind of place where you can genuinely taste authentic Indian cooking — this is Bombay Broy Pangyo, my go-to Pangyo curry restaurant.

Baekhyeon-dong, Pangyo — a bit far to walk, but quiet because of it
This place is in Baekhyeon-dong, Pangyo. Honestly, it's a bit awkward to reach on foot, but ironically that's exactly why the neighborhood feels calm and quiet, which I personally love. The surroundings are pretty, and both the exterior and the interior carry that distinct Indian atmosphere — it puts me in a good mood every time I visit.

The lunch set is next on my list
I keep telling myself, 'I really need to come during lunch time soon and try the set menu.' The lunch set looks like a solid, well-priced deal, so next time I visit alone, I'm going to treat myself to it without hesitation.

This time's order — half tandoori chicken and lamb korma curry
After some deliberation, I ordered half a tandoori chicken and lamb korma curry. While looking over the menu, I got curious about the Afghani chicken next to it — apparently a mild dish in a creamy cashew-based sauce. I'll have to try that next time.

I'd actually been craving beef the past few days and came in planning to order beef curry, but unfortunately they were out of that ingredient, so I switched to lamb instead. Even though the meat was different, the depth of flavor and satisfaction were just as good, so I happily finished ordering.

The garlic naan looked different this time
I always insist on garlic naan when it comes out fresh from the oven. This time, though, the garlic naan looked noticeably different — the surface was golden-baked and glossy, making it look appetizing before I even took a bite. The garlic flavor itself wasn't overwhelmingly strong, but the naan on its own was light and chewy — good enough to tear off and eat by itself and still be impressed.

How's the curry?
Honestly, Indian curry comes in so many varieties that, personally, they tend to all taste pretty similar to me even when I order different kinds. There are slight differences in flavor, but the bottom line is: whatever you order, it's all delicious. The curry here has that deep flavor that suits Korean palates without any pushback from the spices.

Tandoor-fired tandoori chicken
The tandoori chicken that came with it didn't disappoint either. It's on a completely different level from typical fast-food fried chicken. Cooked in the tandoor, the outside is crispy with the grease drained off, while the inside stays moist and tender — perfect for enjoying something light.

A free naan and service that stuck with me that day
While I was happily eating, a staff member from India kindly added an extra naan on the house — a warm gesture. The servers at Bombay Broy are always staff from India, and the guy running the counter and floor that day had such a bright smile and was gentle in everything he did that it left an impression. It felt so pleasantly kind that I wondered if the restaurant had just run some new service training.
I'm usually a big eater, so even after a full meal I often end up hungry again and split dinner into two rounds. But this time, with the hearty curry, tandoori chicken, and the free naan on top, I felt full and satisfied all evening.
Between the location and atmosphere, the taste of the food, and the staff's kindness, this place checks every box, so I confidently recommend it to people around me. I'll obviously keep coming back, and I suspect my 30th visit isn't far off. If you want to experience authentic Indian flavor and a filling meal in Pangyo, definitely stop by Bombay Broy.
