Osan hanjeongsik restaurant, dinner with no reservation: Bomseol

Lately I've been craving hanjeongsik (Korean set meal) with lots of banchan, just like home cooking haha. While looking for a proper Dongtan hanjeongsik spot, I found out there's a Korean food master's restaurant right next to Hong Jong-heun Bakery, so I went straight there after work!! It was so good I'm writing this up to go back with my family later — let's take a look.

Where is Bomseol Main Branch, and what are the hours?

• Weekday break time: 15:00–17:00

The hanjeongsik restaurant I visited is called Bomseol, located between Dongtan and Osan. It seems pretty famous — a lot of people come here for Dongtan meetings between families before marriage or group gatherings.

Bomseol is a Dongtan hanjeongsik spot where you can properly enjoy a full table setting, and it has a private banquet hall for group gatherings too. I heard a lot of people book the Dongtan Bomseol room in advance~

The place is fairly big, so I loved that you can use the banquet hall exclusively haha. We're keeping it in mind for when we do our own family meeting in Dongtan~

Parking at Bomseol: 2 hours free

Bomseol Main Branch has a fairly large parking lot too, and you can register for 2 hours free. We parked right in front of the restaurant.

I heard Bomseol just launched a new menu item called mountain-pile scallion bulgogi. Perfect for a Dongtan lunch too~

There's a self-service parking registration kiosk, so I'd recommend registering your parking right when you walk in, so you don't forget.

With Chuseok coming up soon, it looked like they've started selling Dongtan Chuseok gift sets. Choosing a Chuseok gift is always a headache haha. Might be worth trying the food yourself at Bomseol before deciding.

Bomseol is great for Dongtan company dinners, first birthdays, birthday parties, business events, and group gatherings — the interior is spacious and easy to use for all of that.

It's a hanjeongsik that tastes like nostalgic memories, made fresh every day.

Since it's run by a certified Korean food master, it gave me even more trust as a real Dongtan gem — the award history was pretty impressive.

Bomseol also sells side dishes separately. I don't cook much at home these days, so just buying the side dishes lets you still eat well.

We came on a weekday evening right after work, close to closing time, so we could eat at ease! You can eat on the first floor even without a reservation.

You just sit wherever you want and order through the kiosk at your table.

It seemed like a lot of people near Dongtan and Osan come here for dinner too haha. Having a meal made for you beats cooking at home, always.

This is the Bomseol menu board. There's also a field rice table available weekdays only. We ordered the Bomseol table for two — it requires a minimum of two orders. It's ₩18,000 per person and includes braised pollock and stir-fried pork.

You can order and pay right from your seat!

At the self-serve bar there's barley rice and side dishes, so you can make your own bibimbap~

What comes with the Bomseol table for two?

Our Bomseol table arrived. The main dishes, braised pollock and stir-fried pork, were included along with a variety of side dishes.

They gave us a burner to cook the cheonggukjang ourselves.

The Bomseol table came with everything from salad to japchae (glass noodle stir-fry) to basic side dishes prepared that morning — way more generous than I expected.

The squid fritters were so big, and they were fried a second time, which made them extra tasty.

There's no way a guy wouldn't love the stir-fried pork lol, my boyfriend ate it up happily!

Personally the braised pollock was amazing for me. The sauce and fish combo was insane — paired with rice, it was so good.

I love places these days with lots of side dishes!! You could eat two bowls of rice on the side dishes alone.

There are so many side dishes, yet it's only about ₩18,000 a person — there's no reason not to eat here ㅠㅠ Making all this at home would take way more effort.

Since it's a Dongtan hanjeongsik spot run by a certified Korean food master, the food quality was beyond what I expected! I ate it while being impressed, honestly haha.

Honestly, it was so good that even without the main dishes, the stir-fried pork and braised pollock, it would've been fine lol.

The rice included with the Osan hanjeongsik spot Bomseol's meal is stone-pot rice.

I'm planning to come to Dongtan Bomseol whenever I miss home cooking. Eating out these days is usually ₩40,000–50,000 minimum, so ₩18,000-ish per person felt like a pretty reasonable price.

The stone-pot rice was delicious, but the scorched rice (nurungji) is the real kicker haha.

The cheonggukjang was savory and tasty too, and the smell wasn't too strong, so it was easy to eat without worry.

You have to try the braised pollock!! lol I ate it up nicely with rice — having both side dishes and a main dish really made a difference.

It's easy to pick the bones out too, so it's not stressful to eat.

I put a scoop of rice with a piece of pollock on top and ate it properly.

Eating the stir-fried pork with side dishes, I just kept going — finished a whole bowl of rice haha.

A hanjeongsik can't be without soup~ the cheonggukjang was my style too.

Honestly I had zero expectations for the fried dish, but I was surprised how good it was.

Dessert at the self-serve bar and where to go after

We ordered the Bomseol table at this Dongtan hanjeongsik spot and had a full spread down to the stone-pot rice's scorched rice! I'll come back whenever I miss home cooking or want hanjeongsik haha. It's right next to Dongtan Hong Jong-heun Bakery Café too, so it makes a great date course~

For dessert there's sujeonggwa (cinnamon-persimmon punch), coffee, and puffed corn snacks too haha. If you're looking for a Dongtan hanjeongsik spot, give it a visit! It's been a while since I ate this well, so I wanted to leave this review.
