Beef curry, tandoori cream chicken, window seat dinner in Daegu: Rama

To enjoy my last bit of free time before giving birth, I went out with a close younger friend to eat good food and catch up over dinner at a famous Indian curry spot in Dongseong-ro~ It's Rama & Babana Dongseong-ro Main Branch, which has steadily run in the same spot in Dongseong-ro for over 20 years 💕 Let me give you my honest review haha

🚶‍♀️ It's located right in the heart of Dongseong-ro near the phone alley, so it's a great spot whether you're looking for a Dongseong-ro restaurant, a window-view lunch, or a dinner meetup place ^^*

• ⏰ Hours: Mon–Sun 11:30–21:30 (break time 15:00–16:30 / last order 20:30)
• ❌ Closed regularly: every Tuesday
• Baby chair available
• 🚗 Parking: no dedicated lot, so please use a nearby paid parking lot. (Daeseong Paid Parking Lot is the closest!)

The Dongseong-ro evening view from the window seat

📖 It's on the 2nd floor, and sitting by the window let us look out at the Dongseong-ro street while eating, which was really nice haha. The wood-toned interior felt cozy and had that smell of a restaurant that's been running for 20 years ><. The view is really pretty in the evening ^^*

Curry spice level markers and what we ordered for two

We ordered using a tablet kiosk. Each menu item has its spice level marked, so check it and pick according to your taste haha

• Beef curry (1 serving): ₩12,000
• Plain naan: ₩4,000
• Tandoori cream chicken: ₩14,000
• Seafood teppan fried rice: ₩15,000
• Cider (soda): ₩3,000

I can't handle spicy food well, but today I was craving something a little spicy so I went with the beef curry haha

Plain naan + beef curry — spicy enough for even a spice-shy person

🍛 Plain naan + beef curry 🌶 (slightly spicy). The spices are used just right, making it a traditional Indian curry anyone can eat without worry haha. Dipping the well-baked plain naan into the beef curry was so good, that deep Indian curry flavor that's different from regular curry ^^* I can't handle spicy food, but this was a spice level I could enjoy comfortably haha. The naan tore apart easily and was soft and chewy ><. Dipping it or wrapping it with the curry — top marks 👍👍✨

Tandoori cream chicken ₩14,000 — the portion is huge

🍗 Tandoori cream chicken ₩14,000. First off, the tandoori pieces are really big haha. Crispy outside, juicy inside, well-fried chicken haha. Dip it lightly in the curry and wrap it in naan — so delicious ^^* The combo of spicy curry, crispy-outside-juicy-inside chicken, and soft naan... so good haha

Seafood teppan fried rice ₩15,000 — picked instead of the nasi goreng

🐙 Seafood teppan fried rice ₩15,000 (📣 careful, the teppan plate is hot). It's fried rice sizzling on a hot teppan plate with shrimp, baby octopus, carrot, corn, and peas. I took the photo from above, but from the side the portion is really~ big ^^ Rama & Babana's nasi goreng is their signature dish so I hesitated..... but I really love seafood teppan fried rice, so today I picked that instead haha. Can't go wrong, so delicious haha. It's also really good eaten alongside the curry ><🤤

Cider (soda) ₩3,000

🥤 Cider ₩3,000. Nice touch serving it cold in an ice cup ><. Cooling down with a cider haha. As a cider lover, it's the perfect palate cleanser ><

💐 A pretty bouquet my friend prepared for me, wishing me a safe delivery next week ❤️ The soft blue-purple gradient was so pretty, and I'm thankful she celebrated with me. Let's meet again after I give birth, healthy and well.... ❤️🥺 Congrats on becoming an aunt haha

❤️ Rama & Babana Dongseong-ro Main Branch, an Indian curry restaurant that has stood in Dongseong-ro for 20 years with generous portions. If you're looking for a different kind of Daegu Indian curry restaurant, or a place in Dongseong-ro for a meal, a date, or a wedding-invitation gathering, I recommend it~ The spices aren't harsh, which is nice, the view is great, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a good place to talk haha. Definitely visit when you're craving curry~ 💕
