Where is Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch in Paju?
Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch is a bakery located on the first floor of Farm Star Tower at 109 Chorongkkot-ro in Paju's Unjeong new town. Boulangerie Tan also has a location in Unjeong and one inside the Ilsan Hyundai Department Store, and it's within easy transit reach of Unjeong Central Station.
People who love bread tend to hunt down great bakeries wherever they go. And having a really good bakery in your own neighborhood feels amazing, haha — you can pop by anytime you're craving something delicious. So I wanted to introduce a spot in Paju's Unjeong where you can get truly delicious bread: Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch.
There's parking available at the building, so getting there is no hassle at all. The building is also newly built, so it felt clean and tidy.
What breads are in the display case?
The showcase at Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch had a variety of breads ready to go — sandwich options, pain au chocolat, salt bread, ciabatta, and more. Even in the middle of the day you could tell a lot had already sold — clearly Boulangerie Tan's reputation as a bakery worth seeking out is well earned.
They also sell café menu items. There's coffee like Americano and lattes, plus non-coffee drinks like iced tea and ades.
Boulangerie Tan's breads are made with premium butter. They also wrap the bread beautifully, so it's a great option to buy as a gift.
Are the cornet pie and baguette still there at midday?
At Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch, the cornet pie and baguette were already sold out by midday. There is a cornet pie gift box available, and apparently the salt bread and baguette sandwiches also come in packaging boxes. I really wanted to try the cornet pie, but it was already sold out...
Even the baguette was sold out... I really wanted to try Boulangerie Tan's baguette, so I guess I'll need to come earlier next time. Or calling ahead to reserve one might be a smarter move.
There was also jam and financiers on offer. With several flavors available, you can pick whichever style you like.
The salt bread 3+1 deal and the sandwiches still left
At Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch, buying 3 salt breads gets you a gourmet butter salt bread free. A 3+1 deal... love it!
There was also the new apple brie ciabatta sandwich. There are other sandwich types too, but they'd already sold out, and the only ones left were this one and the ricotta cheese sandwich. So I quickly claimed the ricotta sandwich too, haha!
There was also a fig chiffon cake, plus fresh cream sold separately that pairs well with baguette. It brought back memories of eating baguette with fresh cream as a kid... a real taste of nostalgia, haha.
There were a lot of sold-out breads, which was a bit disappointing, but I can always come back next time, so I picked carefully among what was left and took it home. The parking was really convenient too. The building also has an elevator, so getting around wasn't a hassle at all. And most of all, the staff were all so kind that it made the bread taste even better, somehow.
How the chocolate financier, ricotta ciabatta and pumpkin cream cheese bread tasted
This is the chocolate financier. It's a salted financier, so it has that perfect sweet-and-salty balance. For anyone who loves both salted treats and chocolate, this is the perfect dessert, haha.
The ricotta cheese ciabatta also has a wonderful balance of basil pesto, ham, and cheese. Above all, the bread itself is delicious, which makes it feel like everything at Boulangerie Tan is good. Next time I'll try the baguette sandwich.
The sweet pumpkin cream cheese bread is generously filled with cream cheese and pumpkin. With ingredients they don't skimp on and skilled baking on top of it, it's no wonder this place has become such a sought-after bakery. I wish Boulangerie Tan were in my own neighborhood... lucky people who live in Paju's Unjeong, haha!
