It had a strong local atmosphere while also being kept impressively clean inside. I'm pretty sensitive about hygiene and sticky tables, so I appreciated how fresh and tidy everything was. There's a human figure statue with a palace backdrop that made a great photo zone too — this curry spot has it all.

The chicken mushroom soup came first as an appetizer and was really smooth and warm, perfect for soothing an empty stomach. The samosa, an Indian fried dumpling, was crispy outside and packed with potato and spices inside — dipped in the sauce, it was surprisingly special.

Tandoori chicken and tandoori king prawns

The tandoori chicken and tandoori king prawns looked great visually, though they were cooked a bit more well-done than what we're used to in Korea — don't expect a yangnyeom chicken (Korean sweet-spicy fried chicken) flavor here, haha.

Butter chicken makhani, prawn masala and garlic naan

The most important part, the main curry, is customizable — we carefully picked butter chicken makhani, a perfect match with garlic naan, and prawn masala, a shrimp curry loaded with plump prawns.

Tearing off a big piece of hot, freshly baked garlic naan and dipping it into the gently garlicky curry was a total hit for Korean tastes. I was surprised by how huge the naan was — chewy and absolutely delicious.

Mixing the prawn curry with the rice made me keep reaching for the spoon even after I was already pretty full. I wondered what the lassi would taste like — turned out to taste like yogurt, and we had mango and strawberry, which was good enough to suit even a kid's palate.

India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch let two people eat until full with just one ₩64,000 Set A, which is great value considering Gangnam prices. The restaurant is actually run by an Indian owner, so the flavors of authentic Indian cooking really came through.

Honestly, if you pick the wrong Indian restaurant, the spices can be so overpowering that you end up leaving half your food untouched. But here, the deep, rich flavor typical of authentic Indian cuisine was perfectly preserved, and having an actual Indian owner running the place makes it feel even more special.

Considering you can enjoy this quality and variety of food until you're full for ₩64,000, it's excellent value for Gangnam prices.
