Hanam Misa Chinese restaurant, Chuseok reservation coupon: O Hyeongje

In short

O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch is a Chinese restaurant in Hanam, Gyeonggi, right in front of the Misari motorboat racing stadium. Visiting with family, the writer added scorched rice for 6,000 won to the seafood scorched rice soup and shared tenderloin sweet and sour pork and chili shrimp, plus fried dumplings and lemonade from a Naver Reservation coupon. With wide parking and a self-serve side dish bar, O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang worked well for a Chuseok family meal out.

Hi everyone 😉 it's Kimchuba. As the weather 🌀 gets a little cooler, I keep craving warm, hearty food. This time I went with my family to a Hanam Misa favorite, O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang!

Where is O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch, and is there parking?

O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang sits right in front of the Misari motorboat racing stadium, so it wasn't hard to find at all. Best of all, 🚘 the parking area is spacious, so it was easy to visit by car.

Inside the restaurant: kiosk ordering and robot servers

🥢 Walking inside, the overall wood-tone interior gave off a warm feeling. The tables were spaced generously, which made it comfortable for a family meal, and there were plenty of other diners too.

You order through the kiosk at the table — it feels like more and more places are set up this convenient way these days.

After a short wait, the side dishes started arriving one by one — but the one who brought them to our table was...

...a robot, haha 🤖 You see robots at restaurants sometimes these days, but the kids were amazed every single time, haha.

Side dishes and the self-serve bar, with oranges after the meal

🥗 I tried each of the basic side dishes, and I especially liked the seasoned namul (vegetable side dish). The dried radish strips and baek-kimchi (white kimchi) were also clean and refreshing, which paired well with the Chinese dishes.

There's also a self-serve bar on one side, so if you run low on any side dish, you can just help yourself to more.

Oranges set out at the self-serve bar

There was quite a variety of side dishes, but what caught my eye was the oranges! 🍊 Fruit was set out too, and I thought it'd be nice to eat as a palate cleanser after the meal. One thing though — there was a sign asking guests to eat the fruit only after finishing their meal. We followed the instructions and ate it after eating, too 😊

Seafood scorched rice soup and why the 6,000 won rice add-on was worth it

🍲 And finally, the main dish we'd been waiting for arrived! The seafood scorched rice soup (haemul nurungji-tang) we ordered.

Seafood scorched rice soup served in a stone pot

It comes out in a stone pot lined with crispy scorched rice, and a staff member came over and poured the broth straight into the pot. The moment the broth hit the pot, it went sizzle sizzle sizzle 🔥 — the sound alone was impressive, haha. As it bubbled away, the nutty scorched rice smell rose up, and it looked so good I wanted to dig in right away 😋

Shrimp and squid visible in the scorched rice soup

Looking inside, there was a pretty generous amount of seafood. 🦐Shrimp and 🦑squid along with various vegetables 🥦 and mushrooms 🍄 filled the pot, so every spoonful came up loaded with ingredients. I'm the type who loves scorched rice, so I added extra (₩6,000), and I was glad I did! As the crispy scorched rice mixed with the hot broth, it slowly softened up and turned nutty and delicious — exactly to my taste 👍 I especially felt this kind of hot soup dish is a perfect treat as the weather turns cool this autumn 🍂

Tenderloin sweet and sour pork (tangsuyuk) and chili shrimp

🥢 Next up, the tenderloin sweet and sour pork (saeng-ansim-chapssal-tangsuyuk)! The moment it arrived, the crispy fried coating immediately caught my eye!

Tenderloin sweet and sour pork with a crispy fried coating

One bite and it was crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside — really good. The sweet and sour sauce on the side wasn't too strong either, just the right tangy-sweet balance.

A piece of tangsuyuk dipped in sauce

If the scorched rice soup was hot and soft, the tangsuyuk brought crunch to balance it out — the combination worked well together 😊

🍤 Plump shrimp piled high! Chili shrimp. Even in the photo you can tell the shrimp are pretty big, right? 👀

Chili shrimp with large plump shrimp

The shrimp 🦐 themselves were quite large, and the coating was crispy too. Add the sweet-and-spicy chili sauce on top and it was so much better than just plain shrimp.

It was a dish the kids enjoyed too, so if you're ordering multiple dishes to share for a Hanam family outing, I'd say add this one in!

Fried dumplings and lemonade from the Naver Reservation coupon

🥟 And one thing I really want to tell you before you go! We booked through Naver Reservation, and with the reservation coupon we got fried dumplings and lemonade 🥟🍋 The dumplings were fried nice and crispy and tasted great, and the lemonade was refreshing to sip between bites of the meal.

So if you're planning to visit, be sure to check the Naver Reservation coupon benefits before you go! You've got to grab these, haha 😆

🍊 After finishing the meal full and satisfied, we also grabbed the oranges from the self-serve bar.

How O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang held up for a Chuseok family meal

With warm 🍲 scorched rice soup along with crispy tangsuyuk and chili shrimp, it felt like a truly hearty meal! Especially as the weather cools down 🍂 this autumn, this feels like a great Hanam scorched rice soup restaurant worth stopping by if you're craving something hot. Best of all, the atmosphere is comfortable to visit with family, so if you're looking for a place to bring the elders for a gathering or family dinner this upcoming 🌕 Chuseok, this could be a great option too 😊 How about a hearty Chinese meal with your family this autumn? ❤️
