Cheonan brunch café with Margherita pizza and misugaru: Geurimseu Cafe

Since hurting my foot, I've been taking a break from the long-walking trips I used to do.

It was a little disappointing, but there's also fun in finding cafés where I can drive over and stay a while, relaxed.

On this Onyang Hot Springs trip, instead of heading straight home after hotel checkout, I wanted a coffee and a break, so I stopped by Geurimseu Cafe in Cheonan.

I heard a dog barking and looked over — a Dalmatian off to one side was barking at us. With so many customers coming through, surely it doesn't bark every time... haha. Geurimseu is a pet-friendly café where dogs are welcome.

A spacious café with high ceilings and generous table spacing

The first thing I felt walking into Geurimseu Cafe was how refreshingly open it felt. The high ceilings and wide interior meant no sense of crowding at all, and the tables were spaced generously enough that I never felt too close to other guests — comfortable for staying a while.

From sunlit window seats to roomy tables for groups, there was a good variety of seating, which would also suit family outings or gatherings with friends.

When traveling, you often end up rushing from place to place, but this day, with my hurt foot, I had to move much more slowly.

Maybe that's why a Cheonan brunch café where I could sit and rest for a long while felt especially welcome.

Having just checked out of the hotel with our bags, we needed somewhere to catch our breath, and Geurimseu Cafe's spacious interior put my mind at ease too.

There were various promotions running, so it's worth checking if anything applies to you.

What to eat? After some thought, I decided to have pizza for the first time in a while.

There's a good range of breads to pair with coffee too, so I'd recommend this spot to anyone looking for a Cheonan bakery.

With so many good-looking breads on display, I spent a long time deciding what to pick.

The house-made beet radish pickles were delicious too.

Dalgona misugaru, Margherita pizza, and lemon madeleine

At Geurimseu Cafe I ended up ordering dalgona misugaru, Margherita pizza, and a lemon madeleine.

Chewy dalgona (grilled rice cake) sitting on top of nutty roasted grain powder drink made it fun just to look at, and it was sweet yet filling enough to really enjoy.

The Margherita pizza had a clean combination of tomato sauce, stretchy cheese, and fragrant basil, and I ate it without any guilt.

After the meal, the refreshing lemon madeleine paired nicely with the dalgona misugaru too. Having found this place as a Cheonan brunch spot, I was satisfied to be able to enjoy pizza and dessert both at leisure.

The nutty smell of freshly baked bread drifted gently through the café, and even after finishing brunch, I somehow found room for dessert.

With a menu built for enjoying a meal and coffee at once, I thought this would be a great choice for anyone looking for a good Cheonan brunch spot.

Some guests were simply enjoying dessert and drinks, while others were settling in for a leisurely time with a full brunch order.

Above all, with such a spacious layout, it seemed easy to sit and chat for a long while or read a book without feeling any pressure. When you go on a lot of café tours, coffee and menu matter, but sometimes it's the atmosphere — whether you want to linger — that stays with you more.

A café that became a comma in the trip

Geurimseu Cafe was exactly that kind of place. When you want to step away from a crowded tourist spot and just sit and rest comfortably, the ease that comes from a wide, pleasant space was really nice.

It's a bit disappointing not to be able to do a walking trip these days, but thanks to that, I've been discovering Cheonan brunch cafés one by one that I would have otherwise just passed by.

Until my foot heals, I plan to take it easy and keep traveling at a relaxed pace, seeking out Cheonan bakeries with bread and coffee this good. If you're looking for a good Cheonan brunch spot, or a café with plenty of room to relax, remember Geurimseu Cafe.
