On a weekday evening with cool night air starting to settle in, I strolled with a friend along the Sinbu-dong Culture Street. Among the many restaurants, one place stood out and made me stop — the soft, warm glow and the savory smell of burning firewood drew me straight to 'Napoli Shinbu.' Inside Napoli Shinbu: atmosphere and menu

The menu is full of wood-fired dishes, from margherita to a wide range of pasta options at this Italian restaurant in Sinbu-dong.

There's a thoughtful touch next to the utensil holder — hair ties, so you can enjoy your pizza and pasta without worrying about your hair.

The warm heat radiating from the hearth at the center of the restaurant builds up your anticipation.

The tables are spaced generously apart, and the space is kept spotless — no dust, no grease — making for a comfortable stay throughout the meal.

The moment we walked in, the staff's bright smiles and friendly greetings lifted our mood. And on top of that, the restroom was as fragrant and spotless as a hotel bathroom, which gave me deep confidence in the restaurant's hygiene throughout our stay.

The exterior, with its red brick and stylish signage, is reminiscent of a small alley restaurant in Europe.

Napoli Shinbu's wood-fired pizza comes out of the central oak-fired hearth quickly baked at high heat. 🍕

The savory aroma of top-quality mozzarella drifts by and gets your mouth watering — a signature pizza of this Sinbu-dong favorite.

Baked quickly at high heat by a skilled hand, the process maximizes the chewiness of the dough.

Tomato seafood spaghetti loaded with fresh seafood
Napoli Shinbu's tomato seafood spaghetti is generously loaded with seafood in a rich tomato base. 🍝

The red tomato sauce is packed with seafood, and the dish is visually impressive from the first look.
The refreshing umami of the seafood melts into the rich tomato base, delivering flavor that's both bright and deep.

There's no heaviness at all — just fresh tomato acidity harmonizing with the ocean aroma. Thanks to the slightly spicy finish, alternating bites with the cheesy wood-fired pizza makes it hard to stop eating — the textbook example of Italian pasta in Sinbu-dong.

How to order at Napoli Shinbu for the best meal
- Use the hair ties: Tie your hair up with the hair ties provided at the table and focus fully on your meal. A small touch, but a big point of delight.
- Dip the crust into the pasta sauce: Save the chewy edge of the pizza crust and dip it generously into the tomato seafood spaghetti sauce. It works wonderfully as a substitute for focaccia.
- Grab a seat with a view of the hearth: Claim a central table where you can watch the wood-fired pizza being made up close for extra visual enjoyment.
