Even though I live in Busan, there are foods I still find myself craving from time to time, and milmyeon is one of them. Especially when it is hot or I do not have much of an appetite, slurping up chewy noodles in cold broth makes for a much more refreshing meal than anything else.

This time, I had an errand in Seomyeon and suddenly wanted milmyeon for the first time in a while, so I went to Seomyeon Milmyeon.

A milmyeon restaurant near Seomyeon Station, with parking too

Seomyeon has so many good restaurants that choosing where to eat can be difficult, but this time I decided to have milmyeon, one of the foods you cannot leave out when you think of Busan. Seomyeon Milmyeon, where I visited, is on the first floor of Eos Plaza at 25 Seojeon-ro, Busanjin-gu, Busan, and it is about a five-minute walk from Exit 8 of Seomyeon Station, making it convenient by public transport too.

Best of all, I loved that parking was available!

Parking can be surprisingly stressful when you drive to Seomyeon, but Seomyeon Milmyeon has a parking lot, so visiting by car felt less burdensome. I tend to check whether parking is available before I eat, so I was happy about it here. The official information also lists it as a restaurant with parking.

Ordering cold broth milmyeon, spicy mixed milmyeon, and dumplings

When I went inside, the menu was simpler than I expected. As you would expect from a milmyeon specialist, it centered on cold broth milmyeon, spicy mixed milmyeon, and dumplings.

After some thought, we ordered cold broth milmyeon, spicy mixed milmyeon, and dumplings. If several people visit, I think the best combination would be one cold broth milmyeon and one spicy mixed milmyeon to share, plus dumplings on the side. The two milmyeon dishes really head in completely different flavor directions, so eating them together was more fun.

Dumplings that went well with milmyeon

The dumplings came out first!

Some people may wonder whether to order dumplings along with milmyeon, but personally, I would recommend ordering them together. Milmyeon alone is naturally a noodle-focused meal, while the dumplings made it feel much more filling.

The dumpling wrappers were pleasantly chewy, and the filling was moist and mild, making them easy to eat with milmyeon. In particular, having a bite of dumpling while eating the spicy mixed milmyeon felt like it balanced out the spicy-tangy seasoning, so the pairing was nice.

Cool, clean-tasting cold broth milmyeon

And finally, the cold broth milmyeon!

The cold broth came with noodles and toppings, and just looking at it immediately woke up my appetite. Seomyeon Milmyeon says it uses a rich, cool beef-bone broth, and according to its official website, the broth is simmered for 72 hours.

After one bite, the broth was not aggressively strong; instead, it tasted cool with a subtle depth. The chewy texture characteristic of milmyeon was good too, and with the cold broth, it felt like exactly the right menu for hot weather.

Personally, when I eat milmyeon, I like adjusting the flavor with a little vinegar or mustard. I think it would be good to taste it as it comes first, then add a little at a time to suit your preference. The cold broth milmyeon was clean and refreshing, the kind of flavor that makes you keep eating without feeling weighed down.

Alternating bites with spicy-tangy mixed milmyeon

And the spicy mixed milmyeon we ordered alongside it!

The spicy mixed milmyeon had a charm that was clearly different from the cold broth version. Its sweet-and-tangy, spicy sauce was thoroughly mixed through the noodles, giving it a flavor that really whetted my appetite.

While the cold broth milmyeon felt cool and clean, the mixed milmyeon had more of the savory depth and spicy-tangy flavor from its sauce. That is why I liked alternating between the two best. A bite of cold broth milmyeon followed by a bite of mixed milmyeon kept the different flavors from becoming boring, and I just kept eating.

The combination of spicy mixed milmyeon and dumplings was especially good too. The sauce worked well with the chewy noodles, and having dumplings in between made it quite a filling meal.

A good quick meal in Seomyeon

Seomyeon Milmyeon has an uncomplicated menu focused on milmyeon and dumplings, so ordering was easy. According to the official website, cold broth milmyeon and spicy mixed milmyeon are currently ₩10,000 each, and dumplings are ₩7,500.

If you are looking for lunch or dinner in Seomyeon, I thought this kind of clean, straightforward menu would be a good option. People often come to Seomyeon for appointments or shopping, and milmyeon seems well suited to times when you want a quick meal without lingering too long. It is close to Seomyeon Station, so access is good, and there are many reviews saying it is fine for dining alone too.

More than anything, I liked that parking was available. When you are getting around Seomyeon by car, there are times when you find yourself looking for a place with parking before you even look for a restaurant, so I think Seomyeon Milmyeon is worth keeping in mind for anyone driving over.

On this visit, I tried all three dishes: cold broth milmyeon, spicy mixed milmyeon, and dumplings. Personally, rather than ordering just one dish, I would recommend that a group order one of each milmyeon and share. The two dishes taste different, so alternating between them is fun, and adding dumplings makes the meal much more substantial.

I think milmyeon, along with dwaeji gukbap (pork soup with rice), is one of the foods you should definitely try when you come to Busan. If you are looking for milmyeon in Seomyeon, this was a place worth visiting at least once. If you are searching for somewhere to eat in Seomyeon and craving cool noodles or hoping to try a Busan-style dish, you could look up Seomyeon Milmyeon.

Especially if you are staying in Seomyeon during a Busan trip, it is easy to get to, so I think it is a good option for anyone looking for a restaurant near Seomyeon Station. And if you are seeking the milmyeon that is essential to a Busan trip, you could also stop by after searching for Busan milmyeon restaurants.

I tried the cold broth milmyeon, spicy mixed milmyeon, and dumplings this time, and the three-dish combination worked better than I expected, making for a satisfying meal. If I have another reason to go to Seomyeon, I would like to drop by again for a bowl of cold broth milmyeon on a hot day.

If you are looking for a milmyeon restaurant with parking in Seomyeon, or want to properly try milmyeon, one of Busan's signature foods, I recommend Seomyeon Milmyeon!
