Take-home tumbler, 9-hour ssanghwacha at Pocheon café Geurine Oasis
In short
Geurine Oasis is a large bakery café near Gwangneung Arboretum in Pocheon, Gyeonggi, with a main building, an annex and an outdoor terrace. On a weekday visit with her mom, the writer ordered an iced americano — served in a reusable tumbler you can take home — and a 9-hour traditional ssanghwacha (herbal tonic tea), which had no sweetness and tasted as strong as Korean herbal medicine. Geurine Oasis is photogenic and welcomes dogs, but parking fits only about 15 cars, so allow extra time.

I went on a date with my mom to Geurine Oasis, near Gwangneung Arboretum in Pocheon! I found it while looking for a large café in Pocheon, and the space — main building, annex, and outdoor terrace — was so spacious and pretty that it felt like a shame to just grab a drink and leave. What stuck with me most was that iced drinks come in a reusable tumbler you actually get to take home after using it.

How big is Geurine Oasis near Gwangneung Arboretum?
Geurine Oasis has a separate main building and annex, plus outdoor seating, so overall the space felt very generous.

We sat in the main building, and the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out onto the outdoors kept it from feeling stuffy even indoors. Apparently the annex has a river view too, so you could pick your seat depending on the mood you're after.
The outdoor terrace, with its beige building, rattan chairs and parasols, made me feel like I'd landed in Italy for a second haha. If the weather's nice, definitely take photos out here!

Iced drinks come in a reusable tumbler you keep
I'm a coffee addict, so at any café I basically always order an iced americano. That means unless there's something special about the coffee or the space, the visit usually doesn't stick with me for long — but Geurine Oasis was different.

I loved that my iced drink came in a pretty reusable tumbler, and even better, I got to take the tumbler home after finishing it! Mine was pink and adorable, so I was in a good mood the whole time I was drinking it haha. Since it's not a disposable cup, I can keep using it even after the trip — it felt like a little souvenir from a Pocheon café.
9-hour traditional ssanghwacha: an honest taste review
My mom ordered the 9-hour traditional ssanghwacha (a traditional Korean herbal tea). It came in a floral-patterned cup and looked really pretty, but since it's basically unsweetened, it tasted quite strong and bitter.
It felt less like a tasty drink and more like a medicinal tonic you'd take for your health, haha…
If you're an older reader who likes unsweetened traditional ssanghwacha, this would be fine, but if bitterness isn't your thing, it's probably worth asking whether they can add syrup when you order.

Honestly, we only saw the representative image for the tea menu and assumed all the teas came iced. So we ended up ordering it hot, which turned out to be a small mismatch with my mom's taste — a little mistake on our part, ㅠㅠ.
Bringing a dog to Geurine Oasis in Pocheon
Outside Geurine Oasis, there was not just seating but also a space where you could walk your dog, and the in-store kiosk let you order pet drinks separately. So it seemed like a solid option for anyone looking for a dog-friendly café in Pocheon. It'd be a nice stop on a drive with your dog around Gwangneung Arboretum!

Weekdays vs weekends and parking at Geurine Oasis
We visited on a weekday and had no wait at all, but given the pretty space and the clear draw of the reusable tumblers, I'd guess it gets busy on weekends. Parking looks like it's around 15 spots, so during busy hours it's probably best to allow yourself some extra time.
We only ordered drinks, so I didn't get to try the bakery menu. If you're looking for a large bakery café in Pocheon, I'd recommend it even more for that — they had a wide variety of breads!

If you're looking for a place to rest near Gwangneung Arboretum, or a photogenic spot to visit in Pocheon, keep Geurine Oasis in mind. Next time, I want to sit on the outdoor terrace with my dog on a nice sunny day!
