I visited Petrico (페트리코) while looking for a café near Hapjeong Station where I could try soufflé pancakes.

Petrico soufflé pancake café near Hapjeong Station

It looked like a newly opened place, and once I stepped inside, I loved how much more stylish the interior was than it appeared from outside—and how neatly organized the space was. Their signature dessert was the soufflé pancake, and unlike others, it was fluffy and soft with absolutely none of that eggy smell. So delicious!

Petrico, a café near Hapjeong Station, was such a nice place to settle in with coffee and dessert and enjoy some unhurried time. It even opens from 8 AM on weekdays and 10 AM on weekends, so it is perfect for anyone heading out to a café early in the morning.

What is Petrico's atmosphere like?

A clean, stylish interior and space

Overall, it had a polished, modern atmosphere without a single unnecessary detail.

Wood-toned café interior
Warm and cozy Petrico space

Rather than a stark industrial interior, the warm wood tones and cozy feeling made it even calmer. The large windows also kept it from feeling closed in, so I was comfortable throughout my visit.

There are lots of distinctive cafés around Hapjeong, but Petrico felt like a sleek, tidy new apartment rather than somewhere overdecorated or hectic, haha.

Airy and clean Petrico space

It was comfort itself, so I think it will stay in my memory as one of the few café spaces I really loved.

What is Petrico's signature menu?

The item I was most looking forward to—and the reason I came—was their signature fruit pancake.

The colorful presentation was so pretty, too. Haha. Since they carefully cook it as soon as you order, it takes around 20 to 30 minutes.

The wait made my expectations high, but it tasted really good, too~

Pancake served with fruit and cream

It arrived appetizingly and neatly plated. The standard serving comes with two pillowy soufflé pancakes, plus mandarin orange, blueberries, pineapple, kiwi, half a torched banana, and a little cream. It was refreshing overall, and the fruit tasted wonderfully fresh.

Best of all, there was none of the eggy smell or soggy center that pancakes can sometimes have.

Soft pancake cross-section

It was very nutty, cooked fluffy all the way through, and soft with every bite. The brightness of the fruit also kept it from feeling heavy.

Pancake with maple syrup

They also serve maple syrup, and as expected, pancakes and maple are such a good match.

Soufflé pancake and latte pairing

The latte was wonderfully nutty as well, with a fairly strong coffee flavor that paired beautifully with the soft pancakes. Even the look of that chewy crema slowly falling down already looked delicious!

It was lovely to have a bite of the sweet, tangy fruit pancake followed by a sip of latte.

Petrico's variety of pancake menu options

There were other drinks, non-coffee options, and several pancake choices, so there were lots of things I wanted to try. Haha. They have chocolate banana, platter, and classic options too, and I would love to try the other soufflé pancakes.

Who would I recommend it to?

Rather than somewhere to visit just for dessert, Petrico is a café near Hapjeong Station I would recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy great coffee alongside soufflé pancakes in a clean, spacious setting.

It would be nice for coffee time alone, and it also seemed well suited to chatting or gathering with a small group. The space is bigger than you might expect!! If you are looking for an atmospheric café near Hapjeong Station or a great soufflé pancake spot, I think Petrico is worth remembering :)
