Mapo lash salon black-tinted lift before a trip: Iyo Shop

I’m heading to Miyakojima soon, so I went to Iyo Shop near Gongdeok Station for a lash lift.

It’s in the Park Palace 2 building at 143 Mapo-daero, about a five-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gongdeok Station, so it was easy to find without getting lost.

Once you enter the Park Palace 2 commercial building,

it’s on the second floor. Take the elevator up and turn right—it’s immediately around the corner, so it was easy to spot.

Hours that work before or after work

Hours are 8 AM–9 PM Monday through Friday, 9 AM–9 PM Saturday, and 9 AM–4 PM Sunday. I’d never seen such long hours at a lash-lift place before. When does the owner rest? haha. There’s plenty of time to go before work or after work, making it easy even on weekdays. And if weekdays are busy, weekends work perfectly too.

It is 100% appointment-only, so booking through Naver Booking before your visit is essential. You can park on B1 or B2 of the building, with two hours of free parking.

A quiet, private one-person treatment space

The area is screened with curtains, so you can receive your treatment privately without being visible from outside.

Inside, it has a quiet, clean, white-toned atmosphere. There is also a large full-length mirror where you can check your lashes right after the treatment.

You change into slippers before going in, which keeps things extra clean, and there is a place to store your belongings, so even a bulky winter coat is no problem. Since the treatment is done around the eyes, hygiene matters too, and the shop was incredibly clean, so I had no concerns about that.

The blanket on the treatment bed was so soft and cozy. It was made from the kind of lightweight summer-bedding material I love. I started getting sleepy during the treatment.

I tend to prefer quiet over chatting while getting a lash lift or nail treatment, and I loved that the owner treated me in such a calm, comfortable atmosphere. Since it is a one-person shop run entirely by appointment, there is no chance of running into other people, so you can have a quiet, private, focused treatment. It took just under an hour.

There are many designs, from lash extensions and lifts to lower lashes, mixed curls, and dark-brown color options, and I chose the nourishing + black-tint lash lift.

A loooong time ago, I had extensions, but it felt like they were falling out along with my natural lashes. I stopped after that, and once I discovered lash lifts, I’ve only gotten them occasionally. I think the black-tint lash lift makes the eyes look a little more defined than the moisture nourishing lift.

Before the treatment, she asked whether I had a curl shape in mind. Since I have a bit of eyelid fullness, she said lifting them too sharply might make them poke my eyelids. So we went with something halfway between a strong lift and a natural curl.

I liked even more that she recommended natural, clean styling suited to my eye shape. She said they offer customized designs so that monolids or eyes with short, weak lashes can still look clearly defined.

After lifting even the drooping lash tips

The long-awaited before and after. Even at a glance, you can clearly see how defined and pretty my lashes look, lifted as though I had mascara on. She told me it is best not to wash my face for about five hours afterward.

My lash tips tend to droop a lot in particular, but she carefully lifted them all the way to the ends. Somehow my eyes even look brighter and more sparkling. It’s so amazing that a lash lift alone can change your whole impression this much.

On days without plans, I usually go without makeup, so I worried it might look strange if only my lashes were suddenly popping up! But it looks natural with both a bare face and makeup, so I’m happy with it.
