Gijang, Busan Japanese restaurant with parking: sake-don at Yangsando
In short
Yangsando Gijang Yeonhwa Branch is a Japanese restaurant in Yeonhwa-ri, Gijang, Busan, serving Nagoya-style hitsumabushi (grilled eel rice bowl) and sake-don (salmon rice bowl) in fully separated private rooms. The dedicated parking lot is large, and after reserving a window room the writer shared sake-don, hitsumabushi and a stand-out eggplant stir-fry. If you want to taste both eel and salmon in one visit, two people ordering one sake-don and one hitsumabushi is the combination to go for.

I eat at my favorite eel rice bowl place Yangsando at least once every three months! Today I went to the Gijang Yeonhwa branch.
It's great because each room is separate, making it comfortable to eat, and the window view was so pretty.

If you like salmon too, I recommend ordering sake-don to share! Let me introduce Yangsando Gijang Yeonhwa Branch.
Yangsando in Gijang Yeonhwa-ri: parking lot and storefront
Yangsando Gijang Yeonhwa Branch is on Yeonhwa-gil in Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan, and the dedicated parking lot is really spacious. The sea is also just a 2-minute walk away.
The weather has been so nice lately! Just looking at the sea, which opens your heart, is a 2-minute walk from here.

Since the dedicated parking lot is really spacious, you can visit without worrying about parking.
The storefront is really pretty — there's a pond and a swing, so it seems like a good spot for photos if you visit with kids or babies!

Private rooms only at Yangsando, with high chairs and stroller access
At Yangsando Gijang Yeonhwa Branch, all seating is in separated spaces, which makes dining comfortable. Room size varies by party size, there are high chairs, and stroller entry is possible.
There's waiting seating at the entrance, and Yangsando Gijang Yeonhwa Branch has all seats in separated spaces, which is great for dining.

Room size differs depending on how many people you have, so feel free to reserve comfortably. There are high chairs, and stroller entry is possible.

We also reserved in advance and dined in a window-view room.

When you raise the blinds, the view is a work of art! It's not a completely sealed private room, but with a view like this, that's fine, right?

Yangsando's menu and what we ordered: sake-don and hitsumabushi
The Yangsando menu includes hitsumabushi, mentaiko hitsumabushi, butadon, teishoku, sake-don, and side dishes like inari sushi. This time we ordered sake-don and hitsumabushi.

Today's sake-don and hitsumabushi were plenty filling even without ordering the large size!

The full table setting was so neatly arranged that it put me in a good mood the moment the staff brought it out.

Why the eggplant stir-fry was the surprise of the meal
We ordered the eggplant stir-fry as a side at Yangsando Gijang Yeonhwa Branch, and it turned out to be a real hidden gem. It's eggplant stir-fried in a soy sauce base, topped with butter and wasabi.
I usually just order a sushi set, but today I was craving the eggplant stir-fry — and it's genuinely a hidden gem!

It's very hot, so be careful — eggplant stir-fried in a soy sauce base, topped with butter and wasabi, is seriously delicious~

Is the sake-don big enough for two to share?
Sake-don at Yangsando is what we always order when there are two of us — it's great for splitting one eel bowl and one salmon bowl between us haha.
Look at the color of the salmon — the quality of the Norwegian fresh salmon is great.

They brush on soy sauce with a brush and top it with wasabi — yum, the salmon itself is so tasty that whatever you do to it, it's good.
Why is salmon rice bowl so delicious? I never get tired of it, no matter how much I eat, ㅠㅠ

My friend, who was eating hitsumabushi, took a bite too — asked why the salmon was so delicious haha. It really melts in your mouth.

The chawanmushi (savory egg custard) and cold soba were also amazing — I feel like I would have ordered the soba noodles even if it were sold separately, haha.

Hitsumabushi basic vs special, and how to eat it
The basic hitsumabushi at Yangsando comes with one whole Nagoya-style freshwater eel, and the large size comes with one and a half. There's a booklet that kindly explains how to eat it, so I recommend just following along.
Look at the shine on the eel... no matter where else I eat eel rice bowls, I always come back around to Yangsando.
The first bite is just the eel rice bowl as is! The rice itself has sauce mixed in, so it's incredibly tasty eaten this way too.

One piece of eel with wasabi on top — yum, it just melts in your mouth ㅠㅠ
It's really delicious eaten this way, but pouring in the ocha (tea) broth and adding nori flakes and green onion makes it taste like a completely different dish. I came back stuffed to the brim, haha.

The restrooms were also separated by gender and very clean! I felt good the whole time I was eating.
Yangsando Gijang Yeonhwa Branch is a great place to bring your parents, and also great to visit with kids.
