I had some errands near Wangsimni, so I dropped by a café I'd always wanted to try since it always looked like the coffee and desserts were great.

It's also near my house, so I could visit without any pressure — and the quality of the coffee and desserts, plus the store's atmosphere, were all perfect!

What are the seats like across the first and second floors?

Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch has a duplex structure with a first and second floor. The moment I walked in, what caught my eye first was the interior design and the distinctive layout of the space.

The two floors together create a mood that's both cozy and sophisticated.

It was really interesting how varied and pretty the seating arrangement was!

From cozy sofa seats good for chatting, to table seats good for working on a laptop or catching up with friends, to a moodier space under soft lighting — each seat had its own charm.

It's the kind of place that makes you think, 'Next time I'll try a different seat,' with that little sense of fun and anticipation.

The restroom is outside the building

A lot of people care about restroom cleanliness when using a café, right? The restroom at Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch is located outside the building.

But there was no need to worry it would be dirty or inconvenient just because it's outside. The inside was cozily decorated and kept clean, so it actually felt really comfortable. You could tell they paid attention to even the small details.

Einspänner and vanilla latte: a late-evening caffeine refill

I'd already eaten a solid dinner that evening, but you know how there are days you just crave caffeine anyway? So without hesitation, I ordered two cups of coffee!

I chose an einspänner and a vanilla latte. The moment I took a sip, the deep, heavy coffee flavor filling my mouth was really impressive!

The chewy, soft cream on top of the einspänner made a fantastic pairing with the bitter shot, and the vanilla latte wasn't overly sweet, striking a nice balance between the rich vanilla aroma and the nuttiness of the milk.

It's the kind of flavor that would totally satisfy you on a day you want a proper hit of strong caffeine!

Matilda choco cake and lemon madeleine at Eojil In

They really do say there's a separate stomach for dessert, and it's true!

Even though I was already full, the desserts looked so good I couldn't just walk past, so I ordered the Matilda choco cake and lemon madeleine together.

First, the Matilda choco cake was, true to its name, a textbook example of the kind of rich, fudgy chocolate cake you'd expect from the movie Matilda.

With one bite, the heavy chocolate sponge and thick ganache cream spread thickly through my mouth, and the sweetness felt like it swept away all my fatigue.

The lemon madeleine I ordered alongside it was a beautiful balance of tanginess and softness. The lemon glaze lightly coating the outside burst with tartness when you bit into it, while the inside was moist and soft — a perfect combo to alternate with the rich choco cake.

After polishing off two cups of coffee and delicious desserts, I felt very full and satisfied haha.
