Balcony seat with fall breeze and Valrhona muffin at Baegya Coffee

In short

Baegya Coffee is a large three-story ocean-view bakery café on the coastal road near Gyeongpo Beach and Sageunjin Beach in Gangneung, Gangwon. On the balcony, a fall breeze accompanied a Valrhona cacao muffin, chocolate marble bread, and a cheese fig bread with coffee while looking out at the horizon. With unpretentious bakery prices and the guaranteed payoff of the sea view, this is worth becoming a new regular spot.

A café in Gangneung I want to call a 'sea-view foodie spot'

Sea view from the window at Baegya Coffee, Gangneung

'Sea-view foodie spot' is a strange phrase but it's the word that comes to mind haha 🤭 Baegya Coffee, the sea-view foodie spot — I genuinely love it.

Unpretentious bakery prices and the comfort the space gives — hard to find in Gangneung haha. Of course it's not the sourdough-style, expert-baker vibe, but still, the sea gives such a good guarantee.

My old habit was Tessa, but thanks to this sea-view foodie spot, I'm moving my loyalty to Baegya Coffee. I get drunk on the emerald color and choose this place.

Watching the sea in person from the balcony, fall breeze and coffee

There's a balcony, so there's a small spot where you can look right out at the sea. Feeling the fall breeze, smelling the sea air, coffee and bakery bread... ♡ I get to enjoy my beloved little everyday moments exactly like this at Baegya Coffee. That's the guarantee a sea-view foodie spot gives you, hahahaha.

Just turning my head, I can see the horizon stretching from one end to the other. I space out for a moment. My eyes well up — silly me, haha.

A cup of coffee set against the sea

The coffee is just right to have with bread. If it's better than Starbucks, it's an automatic pass, hahahaha.

*The Valrhona cacao muffin is so good ㅜㅜ I gratefully eat just a quarter of it haha.

*It's said to use Valrhona cacao powder (100% cocoa powder) from the French premium chocolate brand, giving the muffin its distinct deep flavor and heavy chocolate taste. Darker in color and richer in chocolate aroma than a regular chocolate muffin — the basic Valrhona cacao muffin, haha, I have to hold back.

The chocolate marble bread is nicely sweet, not too much. I had a little — it's a special day after all, haha.

It's plenty for a meal, packed with cheese and fig, but really sweet, so I just taste it ㅜㅜ.

Right now, looking at the sea again and again, I feel plenty of small everyday happiness 🩷
