Late-night beef snack in Euljiro: chadol odregi at Eulji Baektan
In short
Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui is a Korean restaurant specializing in grilled bones, right in front of Exit 11 of Euljiro 3-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Stopping in after a first round of drinks, this writer ordered the new grade 1+ hanwoo chadol odregi (38,000 won), which the owner grilled on the spot for a smoky finish and served with salt and five dipping sauces. With its firm, chewy texture and modest portion, the chadol odregi at Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui suits a second or third round of drinks better than a full first-round dinner.

Of all the countless Euljiro restaurants out there, this is my go-to bone-grilling spot, Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui, and I just found a great second-round dish there!!! Honest review of the chadol odregi, starting now!!

110-2 Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul / 14m from Exit 11 of Euljiro 3-ga Station / Daily 11:00–24:00, last order 23:00 / Group seating, takeout, reservations available / No parking

Where is Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui, and is there parking?
This Euljiro favorite is a 14-meter, 10-second walk from Euljiro 3-ga Station!!! Access on foot is amazing!!! Given the nature of Euljiro, though, parking is not possible ㅠㅠ

How to join the waitlist or book a table
On weekends or Friday nights there's usually a wait at this popular spot, but when I went on a weeknight it was nearly full, though there were still seats available!!

You can put your name down for waiting through Catch Table posted in front of the restaurant!!
The restaurant has two floors with quite a lot of tables, so group reservations are possible too!! But since Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui is a Euljiro spot with waits, booking ahead is a must!!

Seating on both floors and the self-service corner
There's a self-service corner between the tables so if you're short on cups or utensils, you can just grab them yourself right there — super convenient!!

Besides the outer area, there's more seating inside near the space where the owners are cooking!!

There's also seating on the 2nd floor, and on the way up the stairs I spotted a lot of celebrity autographs!! Definitely a hot spot these days.

Turns out it's even been on Tasty Guys (맛있는 녀석들)!!! I love that show, but when did Kim Min-kyung go on there??

Even though there are quite a lot of seats on the 2nd floor too, this place still gets a wait.

For group bookings, the 2nd floor looks nice since it's a bit more cozily clustered together!!
The restroom is on the 2nd floor!! It's inside the restaurant, so you don't have to go outside when it's cold, hot, or raining.
Menu and the price of chadol odregi
True to its name, Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui is mainly about grilled bones, but they also sell grilled cuttlefish, fried dishes, and gamjatang (pork bone stew)!! I ordered something not on this board — the newly added grade 1+ hanwoo chadol odregi (₩38,000)!!

During lunch they serve baektan ppyeoguk-bap (bone soup with rice) — it's a bone-grilling restaurant, so you know that soup's good~~

Grabbing your own utensils right at the table like this is actually pretty convenient!! You feel bad calling the owner over every time you drop a spoon or chopsticks haha
For lunch they also serve the trendy woo samgyeop maneuljjong bibimbap (beef belly and garlic scape rice bowl)!! I tried it and it's delicious, you should too!!

You order using the QR code at the table!!

Side dishes: baek-kimchi, kkakdugi and cabbage salad
The side dishes are baek-kimchi (white kimchi), kkakdugi (radish kimchi), and a cabbage salad!!

This cabbage salad is sweet with a bit of tang, so it goes down really easily before you even get to the main dish!!

The baek-kimchi and kkakdugi are both perfectly seasoned too, pairing with everything on the main menu.

Grilled to order for a smoky charcoal finish
The owner grills it fresh in real time the moment you order —

The smoky charcoal aroma is incredible — this is impossible not to love!! I always order the bone grill here, but today, since I'd already been drinking at a first spot, I figured a heavier meal would be too much for round two, so I went with the odregi!!

Cooking it with that smoky charcoal flavor right after you order — impossible not to love~

How chadol odregi tastes, and the five dipping sauces
Grade 1+ hanwoo chadol odregi — perfect for a second round!!! Doesn't it look amazing?!!!
I wasn't sure what odregi was at first, but you all probably know it already?!! The texture is nice and chewy, which makes it just perfect for a second round, perfect.
They bring out five different sauces to eat with the odregi, starting with plain salt!! So there's fun in picking and choosing haha
Salt first, obviously?!! The texture is so fun, not tough at all, chewy, and there's zero gamey smell whatsoever!!
Being grade 1+ hanwoo, the freshness really shows too!!!
The sauces are all flavors Koreans would love, laid out so there's fun in choosing among them.

Why chadol odregi works best as a second-round snack
The soju really goes down smoothly with this!! It might be a bit light for a first round, but as a second or third round pairing, it's absolutely the best, the best!!

And this pan-fried gochu-jji (stuffed pepper pancake)?! This is also a total rice thief, and it cuts right through the richness of the hanwoo fat — a flavor any Korean would love!!! Already famous as a bone-grilling spot, but even the new chadol odregi is a total hit at this Euljiro favorite, Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui — highly recommend~~
